Heart rate stopped working on my Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

On my Versa Lite, the heart rate monitor has been corrupted by not reading the heart rate correctly causing it to falsely read by more than double the actual rate, which has caused a knock-on effect with the calories burned also doubling and making my sleep stats appear as though I am not sleeping or getting very little sleep at all, eg. my resting heart rate at sleep is 48-52 but the watch is stating 110+!!! I have been arguing with Fitbit support for 3 days, who have admitted there is an issue but cannot confirm when it will be fixed!!! They even tried to state that my Samsung phone is not supported when it has been working perfectly fine for the last 18mths! I've had to do a factory reset and reinstall via my PC but this has not solved the Fitbit corruption which is currently permanent! I am absolutely livid! I am not wearing the watch because apart from telling the time it is not analysing anything correctly. Please tell me other people are experiencing the same....

@SunsetRunner, I moved this post to the Versa Help Forum, since it is specific to your device and the firmware.

Yes. Have reset it a few times to factory defaults, reinstalled via PC to no avail. Fitbit support have admitted their error but can't/won't state when the firmware will be fixed.

...additionally, the watch will not switch off completely. I've given up and am not wearing it any longer. I wont be buying g or recommending Fitbit again. God forbid what service we will be getting from here on in with Google as the new owners!

Sorry to bust your bubble but Google has only agreed to acquire Fitbit.

Several countries still have to come to agreement on this.

Not sure what is not happening and why yours would be one of the very few that got corrupted.

If you go into the thread relating to this firmware when it was available and pushed,  you will see many users being affected by this firmware version.  Versa being bricked, not behaving like before the firmware, major battery drain, doesn't turn on after being shut down, etc.

I opted not to do this update since the issues with this firmware are still being posted not just in the firmware post but in various individual posts.

My Versa is working perfectly and although the enhancements are nice,  I'm not going to risk having my Versa become unresponsive or have all the other issues still being posted.

I also contacted Fitbit Support and asked why this firmware version wasn't pulled until the bugs were corrected.  They also advised they were aware of the issues but had no ETA of a fix.

That does look true @SunsetRunner but if we go into the real world and get a true sampling we will find that the issue is relirively few.

Very few users without problems will post in a community for helping people with problems.

What about the warranty.

I get that but when the company admits they know there are issues with the firmware they should rectify it ASAP and not risk additional users that may encounter the same issues as being reported.

My Versa is out of warranty so not risking it.

The company can not rectify until they know the issue.

It may be a hardware issue with a single shipment of one part that was used. And only affects some units.

You have your opinion and I respect that.

That may be the case with batches of Versas and that's why I'm not risking mine.  I've never had an issue with the firmware updates but don't feel comfortable doing this one.  As several users commented, why not pull this firmware until the bugs are corrected.   They did that in the October version of the firmware.

I agree Maddy.

If they'd made the Fitbit community aware of their error as soon as they knew about it, rather than choosing to not disclose it at all (!!!wtf?) users would never have chosen to update!

Affecting one shipment??? Well from the replies to this same thread it appears that shipments to many countries around the world are affected!!!

I agree...it's definitely not one shipment...this is affecting everyone from different countries.

Users are also reporting issues with this firmware on the mobile app as well as reviews for the Versa family on Amazon, Best Buy and other Fitbit authorized retailers.

I still don't understand why they won't pull this firmware from their servers and continue to risk more and more users.

Fitbit has royally screwed up and done some major self sabotaging with this firmware.

Users have already said I'm done and have gone elsewhere....can't say I blame them.
