Heart rate zone not going up when I workout

I use the Fitbit versa 2, I’m female, 5’2”, 112 lbs, and 14% body fat. I work out daily - I run usually 8 to 10 miles daily and do weights as well -
So here’s my question. My heart rate usually easily goes into fat burn zone and cardio when walking, and into peak zone when I’m running . I’ve been able to hold peak zone for up to 15 to 20 minutes during a long run.
but this week I haven’t been able to raise my heart rate, even though I’m running just as fast and just as long (I use a treadmill)

I barely can stay in cardio while I run. It just wants to stay in fat burn zone.
So I’m working out pretty hard, but not getting the calories burned that I want or the zone minutes I want.
So is this something to do with my body refusing to go into higher heart rates or is it my watch?

I’m not feeling particularly tired or anything, so do I just have to work out even harder now...cause that doesn’t exactly sound appealing Lol.

also, Might want to note this, I HAVE NOT been losing weight, I maintain between 110 and 118 all the time, so It can’t be any significant weight loss.
I just don’t want to start gaining weight by not being able to burn calories and the lack of calorie burn is starting to upset me. I barely burn 1,200on a rest day, which means I shouldn’t eat more than that....and that’s just not fun XD

so please help, if there’s something I don’t know or something I’m missing.

So after a frustrating exchange through Twitter DM’s followed by a frustrating hour (mostly on hold) with two different “advocates,” I was advised to factory-reset the device through my Fitbit by going to Settings >> About >> Factory Reset.

I had to reconfigure everything and restore my cards to Fitbit Pay, but this seems to have done the trick.

Buy an actual heart rate monitor. I had open heart surgery and my Fitbit was grossly inaccurate during my cardiac rehab. I was hooked up to a holter monitor in a hospital setting so their readings were definitely accurate. Fitbit was off by as much as 30 beats at times. Polar has a nice arm strap monitor that is very accurate. Don't rely on a wrist worn unless it's bt'd to an actual HR strap like the one I mentioned or a chest strap.

Did you do the update just before it started not tracking properly. My active zone minutes have drastically dropped since the update despite my actual activity level not changing. I just did a workout where my heart rate was up in the cardio zone and it didn't register any active minutes. I think the update broke something.

I have had the same problem today after the update and when using the Workout feature. Did my normal workout for 35 minutes with usual weights and my heart rate was never recorded above 90! I got 2 activity points! Normally it’s in peak or cardio for at least 25 minutes. Will try a workout without selecting the Workout feature next time to see if that is more like my normal reading - the heart rate showing on the watch face seems to be more accurate.

I've noticed mine seems to lag about ten minutes behind when I'm working out. I'm like you I watch my settings on the treadmill, and elliptical. I don't get a consistent heart rate even though I'm working out at the same pace.

If you're really wanting to be accurate, you're going to want to get a chest strap heart rate monitor. A wrist worn one will never be very accurate.

Same. My HR is totally off since recent update. Very frustrating

Yes, I am having the same issues. I played 2 hours of singles tennis and it did not record 1 minute of cardio zone. Plus, my resting heart rate has been going up by 7-8 in the last 2 weeks. It was averaging 62, now today, it up to 69! I can’t remember a time in my adult life that it has been that high.

My resting HR is way off for the last 2 weeks or so. It’s freaking me out

I am having the same problem. It is so frustrating and that’s why I came to the forum to see what was up. I am glad it’s not just me but also don’t like it!

Fitbit are you actually following this thread. Fix your update so that we can get back to life as normal.

I first noticed this during my first post-update workout on Saturday, and each of the three workouts I’ve had since behaved the same way. This evening I confirmed the discrepancy with a pulse oximeter I have at home and, when it was registering a heart rate of 156, the Fitbit was reading only 125 and my calorie burn this week is a full 30% lower than the same workout last Wednesday.

Something is definitely amiss.

Versa updated yesterday and I was hoping that would solve the HR tracking issue. I just went and shovelled 10+cm of snow from my lane way and my neighbour’s. I am drenched with sweat but my HR didn’t go above 90 according to my Fitbit. 👎🏻 That is usually a great workout for me.
I know other threads say the same thing but it never seems to be addressed by Fitbit. I have had my versa 2 for less than a month. By the sounds of it it isn’t a device issue but a software issue.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this??? It is really hard to try to maintain fitness goals when your fitness tracker doesn’t work properly.

See my self-reply above. Factory reset seems to be the answer.

I did that, too. However, I still have the same issue. My resting heart rate is higher than ever. I compared it to my old charge 2, and was 5-7 points higher on the versa. Very disappointing. Probably will get another brand. Too bad, I always liked Fitbit

anyone else have a solution?

This worked for me, briefly.  But I shouldn't have to factory reset every week.  Sp02 sensor seems to flatline regularly for periods of time.  Seems like there is something wrong with the sensitivity of all the sensors since (for me) the December update.

I did factory reset and it still isn’t working for me

Hopefully i’m doing some gruelling workouts and I must be in cardio at least if not peak i can hear my heart pounding away. But no … just fatburn or below zones. Not fair.
