For over a week now my Fitbit versa shows extremely high heart rate even at rest and sleeping. Because of it, it can’t read my sleep cycle right anymore. I have done every possible reset there is, even a factory reset. Yesterday I connected my charge 3 just to see and it works fine. I rather use the versa. I have chatted with the help desk and called yesterday and all I got is we are working on the problem at the end. No estimated time or date when it’s fixed. This morning I reinstalled my versa audit had a long update and I thought this must be the fix. Wrong! Anyone else having this issue? Getting really frustrated.

I have been having the same issue. The HR will read 140+ giving me all sorts of active minutes and calories burned. It also messes up the sleep tracking. I have reset the device multiple times and it has not fixed the issue

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Eerin86.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern regarding the heart rate accuracy of your device as it also affects your active minutes, calories and sleep tracking. Thank you for providing the additional details. Fitbit Versa is intended to give you the best information available in a wearable activity tracker and we're constantly working on improving our devices and user experiences.
As with all heart-rate tracking technology, whether a chest strap or a wrist-based sensor, accuracy is affected by personal physiology, location of wear, and type of movement. I appreciate your efforts to improve the accuracy of your heart rate reading by doing a restart and would like to confirm if you've checked this article with useful information: How do I improve the accuracy of my heart-rate reading?
I'll be around.

So this issue has been going on for over two months and there is not a solution? That really sucks. I love my Versa but it is now useless to me. Mine is registering my heart rate at 160 as I write this. I ordered mine July 26 2018 from Amazon and my issue started July 27 of 2019. So it was good for a year. Are they really working on a solution? Two months is a long time.

I have the same issue, just got off of a chat with an agent who also gave me the "reset the device and watch for 24 hours"...if i need to manually check the device against another device then what is the point of the versa? I'm reading on this forum going back for months that people are having this issue....I do not see any resolution....

Have the high heart rate readings been a problem specific to the versa or are other fitbit styles also seeing problems?

Mine is useless. Beacuase of the crazy HR reading Fitbit thinks I was active for 667 minutes and burned 7,303 calories. It is just an over priced watch as on now. Wish i could of got more than a year and one day out of it. Good luck. I hope they find a solution to help you.

I've got an agent now who's trying to explain to me why it is perfectly reasonable that my pulse, sitting quietly at my desk (using an under-desk elliptical) reads so much higher than using a gym-style elliptcal, breathing hard, sweating, real effort. Also since this is not happening to anybody else, it must be me. I have never ever seen support agent so condescending. Jan is a true gem, and if Jan is the company spokesperson, i do not know why anybody would buy a fitbit ever again.

I too have been having issues with the Versa. It tells me my heart rate is between 139 and 177 when just sitting. Believe me, I'd know if my heart rate were that high. It started a couple of weeks ago. I charged it on Friday morning as I was going to be out of town for the weekend. By Friday night it was dead - all charge gone. On Sunday I let it charge overnight and Monday - not able to swipe in any direction, the only exercise that came up was the running mode. The last couple of weeks, its shows high heart rate, exercising for hundreds of minutes and walking many, many more steps that I know I did. I got online and bought a cheapie tracker and will NOT be buying any more Fitbit products.
