For over a week now my Fitbit versa shows extremely high heart rate even at rest and sleeping. Because of it, it can’t read my sleep cycle right anymore. I have done every possible reset there is, even a factory reset. Yesterday I connected my charge 3 just to see and it works fine. I rather use the versa. I have chatted with the help desk and called yesterday and all I got is we are working on the problem at the end. No estimated time or date when it’s fixed. This morning I reinstalled my versa audit had a long update and I thought this must be the fix. Wrong! Anyone else having this issue? Getting really frustrated.

Looks like this problem has been going on for over a year now. I’ve been a Fitbit customer since 2015 and never had any issues with it until two days ago when the HR just went ballistic. I did all the troubleshooting before coming her and contacting customer support. It appears that they don’t care to fix the problem and probably want to push sales of the new versa. I think I just might be getting the Apple Watch after looking at all the software issues that have occurred with Fitbit watches. I loved the versa, but now, not so much.

My advice would be to move on. I am very disappointed in Fitbit. I was a royal customer too, but they just did not care

I agree with @LeeLeeGA . I've been a loyal customer and the issue has not been resolved for over 6 months. The only thing you can count on is their boilerplate response of "... thank you for bringing it to our attention we are working on it...."
Is apple watch a good alternative? What are the ones the community is switching to?

I have a Garmin Vivoactive. Heart rate monitoring works

A couple of weeks ago my Versa started saying that I had been active for 650 minutes a day and burned 6000 calories. It was shortly before I accidentally updated my app to the latest changed version, so at the time, I assumed there had been a glitch with the new app, and it was just tracking every minute I was awake. A couple of days ago, I realized that my heart rate was running more than 100 points higher than usual at rest. At the moment I noticed it on the app, it said I was at peak workout. Using my husbands Versa, I verified I was within my normal range. It logged these high scores for two weeks before I noticed why it was happening and contacted Fitbit. Before reaching out to them, I read countless stories online regarding this issue and how not one had received any real answers or assistance.
I'm under warranty I thought, surely they'll make this right. I thought this because not 4 months earlier my original Versa screen froze and I was sent a replacement when they couldn't get a connection to it.
The bottom line on my last communication with Fitbit regarding Versa, and the heart rate soaring is this - It is a known problem, they do not have a fix timeline, they will not replace it because technical issues such as this are not covered under the warranty, AND the kicker "you can still use it for everything else!" -- I bought it to track heart rate and sleep cycles, the steps were secondary at the price I paid, I paid that price specifically for those extras, and it's not doing either of those. $230 dollars and it couldn't even last a year. I could spend $35 on Amazon for a step counter.
We have 2- versas in our family and 2- charge 3's, and Fitibit is going to have to look elsewhere for customers because as I told poor Mela who had to chat with me, I am done.

I would like to add my bits to the choir. My Versa is only 3 months old (got it mid-June) and it has gone crazy with HR over the last week or two. Multiple hours in the fat-burn zone, fluctuating HR up to 190 (incorrect; measuring with other devices and counting manually never returned anything more than 125), incorrect sleep patterns and calories burned. Restarting and factory resets do not help.
Apparently, this is not a new problem--I have found threads going back to more than a year--and nothing has been done about it yet? What gives?

My proposal would be to claim a guarantee as soon as possible. 3 months is covered by the warranty. I have also done the new works fine so far. I myself expect that the problem is with the latest update of the FITBIT.

Same here. Fitbit Versa Lite with 5 months of use. HR sensor went crazy and has been logging 150+ bpm for the past 4 days. It also stopped tracking detailed sleep data since it relies on the HR sensor. I sent an email to support but after reading all these comments I'm not too hopeful.

After months of not getting any response from Fitbit I switched to Garmin 235. It works, has all the features I need and a lot more, and it's cheaper than Versa. Also, it is supported by a company with integrity.

I am having the same problem with my Versa. If it is to be believed, then I must be about to have a heart attack. On the plus side, I appear to be burning 6,000 calories a day so that's good, I can eat more right 😉
Joking aside, I could not be more disappointed with Versa. When I got a new Huwawei phone last year, after literally dozens of hours with Fitbit support I was basically told it was my problem as Huwawei and Honor devices are unsupported. Apparently I should have read the fine print. Funnily enough when I bought one of the most mass produced android phones in the world, I oddly assumed that the biggest tracker provider in the world would be compatible.
Months on, they finally sync, though with no visible help from Fitbit. That's when my very expensive scales went kaput. Forums here told me that was a dead duck too - once lost, the synching with the Wifi is never to return. So now I have a £90 set of scales that do the same as a £10 set.
Now, to add insult to injury, New Year, new plan, health kick and my fitbit thinks my heart is about to explode out of my chest (my actual heart rate is 68 BPM, versus the 170BPM readout of the Versa. I know this will get me nowhere. Fitbit devices and customer support are shockingly bad and I am now going to go and shop for a Garmin.

I dealt with Fitbit customer support for a couple of months with no results. I bought a Garmin 235 which is in the same price range and by far superior to Fitbit. I’m very happy with it , Better reporting, and accurate.

My watch sees my heartrate at 150-180 while resting, and my battery is only lasting about 7 hours.
I've had it since March of 2019, and I contacted support and they only offered me a 35% discount on a newer replacement. I thought their site said there was a 2 year warranty? I'm debating taking my watch apart and changing the battery in hopes that will fix everything.
