Horse riding with Versa 3

I've read on numerous reviews of Versa 3 that it is possible to track horse riding as an activity. And it is also possible to avoid having the horse's steps counted as my steps. However, having bought one, I cannot figure out how to do either. Other articles on this forum are old. Can anyone help? Thank you.
