Hourly step reminders have suddenly stopped on Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My 250 hourly step reminders have been working good up until yesterday. Now I get no reminders 10 min to the hour. What happened? Every thing is on on my app. I even enabled and disabled and restarted my Versa. This is getting annoying.

@Jayelo Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! Thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Have you noticed if your notifications are missing too? This could be due to you enabling the do not disturb option. :

1. Press and hold the back button on your watch and swipe left until you reach the quick settings screen.

2. Tap Notifications to change the setting to on/off.

If this isn't the issue or doesn't resolve it then remove all Reminders to move:

  1. On the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Hourly Activity tile. This is the tile that shows the number of hours you completed 250 steps.
  2. Tap the gear icon User-added image and adjust your reminders to move start and end times or the days you want to receive reminders.

In this case you want to remove them all, save and sync your Versa now re-enter them again, save on the app and sync again.

Finally retry the restart you mentioned earlier by doing the following:

1.- Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
2.- Let go of the buttons.
3.- If your Fitbit watch doesn't work normally, use the instructions in How do I turn off my Fitbit device? to turn your watch off and on again.

Let me know how it goes!

Welcome to the Forums @Kidperson30! Thanks for sharing your experience with Versa. To make sure that your device is working correctly, restart it

After this, please make sure to follow @AlvaroFitbit's advice on his previous post. Also, just wanted you to know that I've gone ahead and moved your recent topic "Hourly 250 Steps not recording" to the Versa board in an effort to tidy up the Forums. Also, this post may be helpful to other users with the same inquiry as you. For your reference, you had originally posted your question in the Alta board, which is dedicated to discussion around how to use the Alta and its features.

Thanks for your understanding! 🙂

I just received mine yesterday. It gives me no reminders to move. I did all the trouble shooting and called Fitbit. The lady walked me through the same steps. No notification at 10 til the hour. She put me on hold then came back and told me that there is an issue with the notifications from Fitbit end for versa. I will just have to wait until they get an update that will resolve this. I'm quite upset as for me this was one of the main reasons I purchased a new Fitbit. They are not inexpensive! So why do I have a Fitbit that because of the manufacturer has non workable notifications? Should I have purchased a watch instead? Come on Fitbit make sure your equipment works before we the consumer spend our hard earned money on your product. So, now I sit and wait for an "update" of no known time so that my Fitbit "might" work. Not happy!

It seems impossible to get this resolved.  I have followed every instruction and nothing works.  I tried both live chat and a phone call and was told that this is a problem with the app and someone will get back to me.  The same thing happened with my Alta and no one ever got back to me so I bought a new fitbit.  The Versa worked great at first but now it is a mess.  The activity tracker and the minutes are mismatched.  Grey dots turn red and then grey again.  And no more notifications to move.  I guess next is factory reset and then if that fails to fix the problem I will buy a different kind of tracker.

This thread was started last year. I just bought the Versa and am experiencing the same issue with no reminders. Can someone from Fitbit please respond with more information? Yes, I followed the OP steps.

Have had my Fitbit for roughly a month. It isn’t recording my hourly activity at all!!! Yet I do nearly 20 thousand steps everyday. Extremely frustrating. Will it ever be resolved??????

I just got my versa lite a few weeks ago for Mother's day gift and also experiencing the same problem. I repeated the steps - turn off and turn on the reminder, set time, then reboot Fitbit, and still not working. I am not sure if I should just return this device and go back to the old Charger 2 which works fine except the crabby belt! Why can't Fitbit make something decent with the price this small thing costs? I know I sounded frustrated - because I am!

I bought my Versa 2 in November and it worked fine for a while.  Then, there was an update and it stopped notifying me of my step count, no longer tracks my sleep, nor does it connect with my phone, etc.  I have reset it twice, per other posts from the community, and it works fine until I reconnect it to the internet and says it needs to update.  I bought the product specifically because of the features listed.  I either want my watch to work properly or for my money to be refunded, so I can purchase something that does work as advertised.  Please advise!

Yes, I feel like to return the device because the dashboard report is just
so out of sync - the steps reported yesterday took a long time to get
updated, then the calories count was today’s number.., many many problems
I’ve seen in this device than the previous one charger 2. I wonder if I
need to spend extra money to buy the premium subscription to have a
properly working device? If that’s the case, I’ll return and use devices
from other manufacturers with much less money.

I finally figured out why my Versa 2 was not alerting me to step count and the other features, don't know if this will help you.  It appears that an update pushed my watch into Sleep mode/Do Not Disturb.  When I went into Settings and unselected these features, the watch began to work properly.

Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!! THIS WAS IT. I've tried absolutely everything else in the thread and in other threads that I found, but your post was the solution! It was in sleep mode somehow. THANK YOU!
