How Fitbit Can Save Your life

This is just an idea, but I think it's a good one you might want to put into development because it could turn those that aren't even into exercise on to Fitbit.  You guys might want to consider making a version that emits a sound similar to the sound a heart rate monitor makes when someone flatlines in a hospital... Ya think about it it... it could probably save a lot of lives. Especially considering the fitbit even monitors you while you sleep. For instance, I suffer from sleep apnea where my breathing randomly stops for very brief periods. However if it stops completely obviously that would be the end of me... but I think I would sleep a little easier at night knowing my fitbit would make a noise that would wake my wife and possibly save my life.  It's just an idea. i suggested it to one of your reps and she thought it sounded really good and directed me here.  I told her if you guys put it into production I want one for me and one for the wife. LoL. She said she thought that sounded more than fair.  Thank you again for your awesome products by the way. The wife and I both started with the Flex 2 and I picked up both the Scale and the Versa today from your online store.  Can't wait till they both arrive.

@shadodwlr hey there and welcome to the community! I think as with any tech toy there will be those who love and those who do not. You will find most of the community to be a friendly helpful bunch who really enjoy their little buddies- quirks and all. As far as your suggestion goes.. I'm adding the link to the features suggestion board. You should add your idea there and if folks vote on it - it could be implemented. No, I think they should implement the idea and guarantee no false positives or unwarned of heart failures. Then let's see what happens to their business plan.

I wouldn't trust FitBit as a company let alone a life saving device. Period. There's no way they are up to the standards of a Medical Device Manufacturer. It's obvious, they sell defective Versa's to the public with no Customer Support other than saying to re-boot the device. You haven't received yours yet, good luck to you, you may, if your lucky, get one that works.

Wow.  I'm sensing a little hostility here. I'm saddened to see you both have such a problem with Fitbit's products. So far my wife and I have no issues. And as far as their customer service goes, their chat rep was very friendly and helpful towards me and their phone support rep as well tried to help me to get the mothers day discount shipping so I can honestly say that so far I've found no fault in their customer service or their products so YES! I would trust Fitbit to implement a feature into their product in if it detected that my heart stopped completely that it would sound some type of an alarm. Again, I think it's sad that you both have such a problem with Fitbit but I do not and stand by my suggestion to them.

I don't think this will be happend. Except as a marketing promotional thing. Let them fix the other issues first..

They are waiting for FDA approval for Sleep Apnea detection as well as AFIB detection. Sounds like they have a very high efficacy rate.
