My Versa 2 button has intermittently stopped working over the last couple of weeks. Having owned it for just over a year support offered me 30% off a replacement Versa 2. I may however have found a "fix" for my problem and wanted to share it because I notice that many Versa 2 owners have problems with the button.
Before I tell you what I think is happening, I realize that the button stops working for many different reasons (some physical, some hardware, maybe some software) and my solution probably applies to a very small percentage of the cases. Also, because it is an intermittent problem (was happening every two or three days) I won't know if I have really fixed the problem until I don't see the problem for a couple of weeks.
What was happening: Every couple of days my Versa 2 would get in a state where it appeared to be somewhat non-responsive. A short press of the button did nothing. The motion of looking at my wrist did not activate the screen as it normally does. A longer press did bring up the "set Up Alexa" screen. A longer than 10 second press did restart the watch and make it work again.
What I had been doing for the past couple of weeks was turning off Bluetooth on my phone for long periods of time. I drive for Doordash and had decided not to have my phone Bluetooth connect to my car while I dash so the easiest thing to do was simply turn off Bluetooth while I was dashing. Turning off Bluetooth for hours on end seems to coincide with the Versa 2 getting unhappy.
I therefore unpaired my phone and the car so I could leave Bluetooth enabled while I dash. This appears to prevent the watch from becoming unresponsive.
It's only been a few days since this change so I don't really know if the problem is "fixed" or not. I will post an update in a week or so.

I have owned a Versa2 for almost 2 years, and on May started working wrong, and then it was dead. I really like the watch, but I do not want to spend my money on another Fitbit "smartwatch". I didn't put in the water or had a crack etc. I think that you need to replace it, Thank you so much
