How accurate is the HRV in the health metrics?

I think the HRV data provided by fitbit is useless. Not worth paying attention to it as it doesn't event get the trends right. Mine keeps jumping around

We have similar stats. I am 44, work out 5 times a week and my RHR has been in the high 40s-low 50s for years. Fitbit says my HRV is 47 which from looking at charts also puts me in the senior category! Not sure how accurate this thing is at times, definitely think the caloric burn estimate is
too high since it is just using HR plus some height/weight/age formulas that don’t take hormones/metabolism into account. Anyway, you are not alone in questioning some of its measurements!

Does anyone know if fitbit is looking into this to see if it is a hardware or software issue. And are they trying to fix it?

Min is low too. From 25 to 40. I work out daily and eat healthy. So I am hoping it isn’t accurate

Agree 100%. We need to listen to our bodies and pay attention to how we feel

Thank goodness for this thread. I just spend the better part of the last hour thinking I was dying 🙈

Imagine me at a mostly consistent HRV of 11 ... wake up to that ... I'm buying a strap off of Amazon that runs like $42 and is confirmed compatible with Elite HRV. I'll post an update, for sure.

Me too. Says mine is 12 ms. I work out, sleep well, manage stress, no health issues. Doesn’t make any sense.

I’m a 77-year-old male with a rest HR of 55. I regularly exercise. Main exercise now is brisk walking up and down hills. Before the pandemic I also played basketball a few days a week. I hope to eventually get back to that. My HRV varies all over the place. This graph is a typical recent one. I have no idea how to interpret this kind of data. Any suggestions?
