How can I access actual FitBit help? I have dead hardware under warranty

I have spent a couple of frustrating days trying to get anyone ("the next available agent") to show up in the help chat. The community forum can't help me fix my problem because my problem is that the watch hardware has has imploded and the (10 week old) Versa 2 first lost touchscreen function, then lost button function, then lost all power. I charged and hard-booted (reset) it, and the same thing happened again, and now I can't make it respond at all.

 

So I need to return the watch under warranty, but there seems to be no way at all that I can actually get a human from FitBit to answer? They took away the phone number to call, so I'm stuck in the "live chat' and I'll keep it open in a window on my screen ("Thank you for waiting. We will connect you with the next available agent") for literally hours and no one ever appears. I don't know what to do: my watch is completely broken and I can't get warranty service because I can't contact anyone?

Hi @digiwonk  with every company busier than ever, I've waited on phone and chat help for as long as three hours for Costco and Walmart. The best thing is to try the phone and then chat. Some days might be busier than others, too.
