How can I make the start button access my text messages?

The Versa 2 only has a button on the left (which is a bad place). It can only act as a shortcut to Alexa or Wallet. I don't use either of those features. Can I set it up to do something different? If so, HOW?

No. The side button on the Versa 2 is only set up to either be FitBit Pay or Alexa. You can't customise it.

Get yourself a Versa 1. The side buttons can be set to shortcuts and I have seen them selling for as low as $89 at Macy's.
