Does anyone know how I can reply to text messages on my new versa? Or is that not an option?

I got mine working on my Samsung Galaxy s8 with Android 8.0 running it.
I had to to enable everything as far as settings and permissions in the Fitbit app and the messenger app for the phones text messages. Also went into my phone like making a call and into its settings and enabled everything.
You have to play with the notifications settings and push options. It may help to re-install the fitbit app and enable all permissions. I also when done, removed and re set up the blue tooth profile for the fitbit.
I believe the problems come from permissions and push settings for the apps. They bassically need the right to send sensitive info to another device i.g. the Versa.

Do you know if the quick reply feature works with Google Hangouts? And if so, how do you enable it?

When will/did this feature become availablele

I would think that Quick Replies would work with Hangouts.  In the Fitbit mobile app look in Notifications and then App Notifications.  You should see all your phone app listed and choose Hangouts.  BTW, Quick Replies doesn't work with iPhone.  Only Android.  Started working with the Firmware update 32.32.10.15.

Kathy,

Could you please explain how you edit your replies?  Is it possible to create my own replies?

Thank you!

@Funkygoldengirl Touch the little Versa icon in the corner and slide down to Notifications. Touch Notifications. Then touch Quick Replies and then Default Replies to open the screen with 5 reply options. The defaults are in grey but I can type what I want. If you touch on an app name you'll open another screen with 5 replies for that app specifically.

All this applies Android 7.0 and up only. Quick Replies don't work for iPhone.

I can view when I get text messages (on my Versa) but I don’t seem to be able to do anything with it. Can anybody help or shed a little light on what to do?

@_trackie22_ when you tap on the notification on your watch, you should get several options. One of them is reply. Note: this is only available for the apps that support this feature .If you're using an app that doesn't, you will not be able to use quick replies.

I posted a few times on this issue so ill make this brief. Enable permissions in your text app and fitbit app to push notifications. Turn on anything that refers to allowing blue tooth access. Also go into your phone app like making a call and then into the options of that app and make sure permissions are on their too so when you get calls, it alerts you. Make sure in fitbit app you have auto replies turned on and make your custom ones while at it. Then you may or may need to remove and re add the Versa to your blue tooth.
Some things to note. I got mine working eventually but i did all of the above, have android 8 and on a Samsung Galaxy S8. I also turned on  Developer mode in Android and turned on anything reffering to push notification to lock screen. Hope this helps.

Who knows. Apple restricts a lot if app access and it needs to be able to have permissions to push notifications with the screen locked to the versa via the fitbit app and blutooth. So its anyones guess if apple will allow this.
I have a work phone thats an Apple iPhone7. I could test it out maybe when i have time, see if i can figure it out like i did for the Android OS.
However im not sure if/when i will have time. Just not my priority and Fitbit hasnt paid me for figuring it out on Android and posting that. (HINT HINT FITBIT).
However, ill give it a shot tomorrow if work is slow.
