I have a versa and an Alta, I like the heartrate function on the versa for my treadmill workouts but I use the handrails on the treadmill and I feel like it doesn't count all my steps. If I wear the versa and put the Alta around my ankle will the steps read accurately?

If you are holding on to the bars it will not count accurately. Also you not covering an exact distance because you are not moving forward.

It explains it very well

If you’re not worried about your HR recording you can wear it around your ankle or in your pocket . It will record accurate steps. I have to do this at work because I can’t wear anything on my wrist
