How can I transfer music to Versa from a Mac Computer?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So my fitbit connect app ceased to open on my MacBook Pro. I uninstalled it via MacKeeper and now I can't get it on the app store? Why not?

If I can't download the app, how can I move my music to the Versa? I bought this fitbit because I hoped to be able to listen to music while running, but £149 later, I can't do that? Unacceptable.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,

The fitbit connect software can be downloaded from www.fitbit.com/setup

Yeah, that's only for the iOS , not for MacOS, but thanks for the reply.

Seriously, Fitbit? No-one wishes to comment?

I'm no apple expert but are you sure? At the bottom of that page there are download options for Mac and Mac 10.5 and these are separate from the iOS app download.

Hi Steve,

I confess I'm no expert either, but when I follow the setup link to the apple app store, it comes up at the top of the page with "only available for iOS devices only", and gives me no other option for downloading the app to Mac.

Have you a link I can follow? maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, but... there doesn't seem to be a MacOS version of the app available.

UPDATE:

Ah, you mean at the bottom of the page before the app store. Trying that now.

UPDATE 2:

Alright, found that now.

Thansk for your help! I'm such a dumbass!

UPDATE 3:

But now I can't get the app on my MacBook to sync with my Versa (it says mobile sync only).

Square one.

Thanks for helping, by the way!

Cheers, Joe

I'm getting out of my depth here but my understanding was that you needed a mobile device to set up a versa but once set up you could sync via the Mac. Are you trying to set it up again via the software or just signing on using your existing id and password?

Hi Steve,

Sorry for the late reply; I was away for the weekend.

Nope; I had the app on my MacBook, then the app stopped working so I used MacKeeper to uninstall it. THEN i tried to re-install it, but couldn't find it on the app store for Mac (it was only iOS). THEN i realised what you were saying was to not get as far as the app store, but to scroll down on the fitbit.com/setup page, and I would find the download there. So I did. now I can't get the app on my MacBook synced to my Versa, even though I have it synced to the app on my phone.

However, I am reading a lot of posts where people can't get their Versa's synced even after like 2 hours, so I guess I will either keep

OK, so it sounds like the software is back as it should be but your fitbit is not syncing.

The usual things to try when you get syncing issues are:

Hello @NoJoe, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. I appreciate all your help @SteveH, thanks for joining the conversation. Smiley Happy

@NoJoe, I've moved your post from the iOS board to the Versa board to keep our boards organized, I sincerely apologize for the delay in the response. Please note that the Fitbit Versa does not sync with Fitbit Connect, it can only sync through a mobile app. The reason Fitbit Connect is used to transfer music is because it uses WiFi and not Bluetooth to transfer it. After downloading Fitbit Connect and open it, you will be able to see a screen with 3 options. The last one is "Manage Music" click here to start the process.

Make sure your watch and your Mac are able to be connect to the same Wi-Fi network:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon > Versa
  2. Tap Wi-Fi Settings.
  3. Tap or click Add Network and follow the on-screen instructions to add your Wi-Fi network or check the Network list to make sure it’s already listed.
  4. Tap the network name > Connect.
  5. To see which network your computer is on, click the Wi-Fi symbol on your screen. Connect to the same Wi-Fi network as your watch.

If you have trouble connecting your watch to Wi-Fi, see Why won't my Fitbit watch connect to Wi-Fi?

Now to transfer music:

    1. For best results, sync your watch in the Fitbit app, and then disable Bluetooth temporarily on your phone and computer.
    2. Plug your watch into the charger.
    3. In the Fitbit Connect window on your computer, click Manage My Music.
    4. If prompted, log in to your Fitbit account.
    5. On your watch, open the Music app and then tap Transfer Music. Note that you may need to scroll down to see the transfer button.

    6. Wait a few moments for your watch to connect. Note this can sometimes take a minute or two.
    7. When prompted, follow the on-screen instructions on your Mac to choose the playlists you want to download to your watch. After you choose a playlist, the download starts automatically.
    8. Note that if you take several minutes to pick your first playlist, Wi-Fi may disconnect to preserve your battery. Tap the Transfer Music button again to reconnect and continue choosing your playlists.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Hi NoJoe,

I found a link to download for Mac:https://www.fitbit.com/setup?platform=mac

Go to the bottom and click Mac. Let me know if that helps.
