@DevonJane   Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the Exercise app on the Versa 3.  Once you use Hike, it will be at the top of your list.

Hello @DevonJane

Open your Fitbit app, tap your profile picture then scroll down to Versa 3 then scroll down and tap exercise shortcuts. If hiking is not currently showing delete one that is pre-loaded, then select ""Hike" from the list of possibilities.

😃 Remember to sync your Versa 3 for the change to take effect. I hope this provided you with the best answer and gets you up and running with Hiking as an option now. Please let me know

Sorry @DevonJane but hiking is not one of the auto detectable exercises.

Walking is, but when hiking, the arm movements and timing may not be predictable enough.

Do all people hike with poles or some without? This would have a big effect on the arm movement.

Hiking is already in the manual exercise functions.

@DevonJane   You mention swiping and changing exercise shortcuts.  That is used with the exercise shortcuts on your phone.  The Versa 3 exercise shortcuts are all on the device itself.  Swipe to go to your Exercise app on your Versa 3.  All of the Exercise shortcuts are in alphabetical order.  After you use one, the list changes to Recent and everything else in alphabetical order.  @Rich_Laue is correct.  Hiking has never been on the list of auto recognized exercises.

Thanks, I've got the list but one of my main exercises is hiking so really wanted that as a short cut. Never mind I can live without.
Thanks for replying.

Thanks for replying, I know I wanted it as an automatic recognition and now I also know that's not possible.
