How do I listen to music on my Versa 3 without my phone?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Is there anyway I can listen to music without my phone so through my headphones when out running.

I read somewhere I could if I had a premium music subscription but just tried spotify and aparently that one doesn't work and now wasted 1o pounds.

Does Deezer or Pandora work, does anyone know before I upgrade these?

Hi there @Amber8769, welcome to the Community Forums. I'll be glad to answer your inquiry about listing to music on your Versa 3 without carrying your phone. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Regarding using Spotify, please note the following requirements:

  • The Spotify app on your Fitbit device doesn’t support offline music playback, so your paired phone must remain nearby with the Fitbit app running in the background and connected to the internet.
  • A Spotify Premium subscription is required. For information on Spotify Premium, see spotify.com.
  • You must have the Spotify app open on the device playing music. For more information on Spotify Connect, see spotify.com.

About Deezer and Pandora, you can leave your phone at home. After you download your playlists and connect a Bluetooth audio device to your watch, you can listen to your tracks anywhere. For more information, see: How do I listen music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch?

Let me know how it goes.

Downloaded Deezer but there is nowhere to put my activation code?

Hi there @Amber8769, thanks for getting back.

When setting up Deezer, open the Deezer app on your watch to see your activation code. If the activation code doesn’t appear:

  1. Make sure the device you have paired with your watch is nearby with Bluetooth turned on.
  2. If the code still doesn’t appear, press the back button on your watch and then open the Deezer app again.

If you see a code on your watch, but can’t enter it at fitbit.com/deezer, make sure you’re using the code displayed on your watch. Each code is tied to a specific user and device and expires after several minutes. If you’re not able to activate Deezer, contact Customer Support.

If the activation code remains on your watch after entering it at fitbit.com/deezer:

  1. Make sure the device you have paired with your watch is nearby with Bluetooth turned on.
  2. In the Fitbit app, choose the Deezer playlists you want to download, and then place your watch on its charger within range of your Wi-Fi network.
  3. If the activation code doesn’t go away on its own, press the back button on your watch and then open the Deezer app again.

Note that you need a paid Deezer subscription to download playlists to your watch.

Let me know if you have any questions present.

wow - this is a complete waste.

if I have to have my phone with me, I might as well listen through my phone

so I can basically use the watch app as a remote?  guess what? my headphones can do the same thing with a tap

Marre, why does Spotify not allow for download to the Versa 3?  And why has fitbit not put the music app back on the watch so we don't need to pay for a 3rd party app to listen to music without our phone?  I am so frustrated with this!  My ionic had music on it with no other app and I loved it when out running.  This lack of functionality is going to force me to leave for another smartwatch.  Sad.

I agree, a complete waste.  It's really unbelievable that a "smartwatch" can not store its own content to be played without a 3rd party subscription.  I am switching to a Galaxy watch.
