Ok so the issue is that I had the lock screen which I’ve now figured out is because of the credit card thing... but I removed the device from app as I thought it might help to reset.

It is still locked and so now I’m stuffed because I can’t sync to app or add device any more... any ideas??

@Lucykough at this point, you need to factory reset it:

  1. Press and hold all 3 buttons until Fitbit logo flashes (this usually takes 15 seconds but may take up to 3 minutes)
  2. After Fitbit logo disappears, release the bottom right button
  3. Wait until you feel strong vibration and release the other buttons.

You may need to attempt the reset a few times to find the optimal times. Trying holding the buttons longer, as long as it's needed for the vibration to appear.

If you're successful with factory reset, please remember to remove Versa from your Fitbit account (in your Fitbit mobile app) and Paired Devices list in your phone Bluetooth settings as you will have to set it up again (add as a new device).

I have dents in my fingers from trying all the different ways. My watch locked after my arm must have been pressing the button while I was working.

I followed lots of steps on here. A glitch on the app won't let you unlock your versa from your phone. Considering how many people are having problems with this that it would have been sorted by now.

Now I'm left with my versa locked and not connected to my phone. And none of the factory resets are working. So frustrating. And anyone I speak to from customer service keeps telling me the same thing and I keep having to re explain to them the current state of the device to which they say(like on here) ' for factory reset hold the 3 buttons down....'. It doesnt work. Why has this issue not been solved yet? 😓

Did you ever get a solution because I am having exactly the same issue.... can't restart or do anything for that matter!

Any solution?  So annoying!

No, I finally got a hold of someone higher up at Fitbit after lots of
complaining and they shipped me out a new one because there was no
fix.

Yes it did! Still going strong.
And if it happens again the charger is already to do it again.

I tried to follow your steps but fails

1. Press and hold all 3 buttons --> check. Fitbit logo appears and disappears

2. When exactly? After it completely stops flashing?

I can not get this to work. Fitbit Versa displays the 'Unlock with phone' symbol

Now waiting for the replacement..

My husband is having a similar issue! His screen kept changing rapidly between black and backlit but not showing any content on his Fitbit. Unfortunately, all of the factory reset instructions I've been able to find involve having the Fitbit plugged into the "charger" and holding down all the buttons (since I can't use the screen for anything). The charging dock does not allow you to do this when it's plugged in. So I'm not sure what else to do.

I've tried holding down the three buttons anyway, without charging it and nada. The help articles have been useless and we've written Fitbit a couple of days ago for help but still haven't received any reply. I plugged it in again and am just letting it sit there. Even though it's not indicating it's charging, maybe it will and holding the 3 buttons down will work? Idk but I'm frustrated here. It's just within the 1 yr warranty and I'm concerned that even if this does magically work, what if it craps out again.

I might be thinking of a different purchase other than a Fitbit going forward. It's a shame, I've bought a lot of Fitbit products over the years, including the new scale.

@krypro  You do not need to plug Versa to the charger. Please attempt 3-button factory reset:

  1. Press and hold all 3 buttons until Fitbit logo flashes (this usually takes 15 seconds but may take up to 3-6 minutes)
  2. After Fitbit logo disappears, release the bottom right button
  3. Wait until you feel strong vibration and release the other buttons.

You may need to attempt the reset a few times to find the optimal times. Trying holding the buttons longer, as long as it's needed for the vibration to appear.

Thanks for mentioning that. I did try it anyway a few times, exactly like you said and nothing happened.
