I actually have the new Versa but since it's similar to Ionic I thought there may be more experience with Fitbit Connect. I am on a Mac and when I start to connect it does find the watch. In the advanced settings of the Mac app I set the source folder to a new folder with about 30 MP3s.
When I go to Manage my Music in the Mac app and start Transfer Music on the watch. The Mac app starts to show a list of playlists from my iTunes even though I reset the source folder to something different. Pretty quickly about four playlists are listed but then the app freezes due to an unresponsive app and the only way out is to Force Quit. Waiting does not help. Before I reset the source folder I got the same freeze behavior when the source was set to my iTunes music folder. That's why I decided to try a folder with just a few songs.
Any ideas on how to get this working?

It's great to see you around @Jimtowner.
Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. If you are having issues transferring music to your Versa, I recommend taking a look at the Why can't I download music and podcasts to my Fitbit watch? article and follow the instructions provided there.
I hope this helps, let me know the outcome.

How do you find manage my music? I'm on a MAC and just got the Versa and all the instructions for transferring music from computer to versa tell me to go to manage my music but I don't see that in any of my settings.

I have gone to the Fitbit app dashboard and there is no Account Icon image. I can't seem to find anything similar.
