Hi there @toebarrett, thanks for getting back. I'm glad to hear you finally managed to download your music on your Versa
With regards to your inquiry, yes, you need to install a free software application called Fitbit Connect that lets you download music and podcasts from Windows Media Player to your watch.

I'll be around if there's any questions present.

Hi there @Tiarnan27, welcome to the Community Forums.
On Versa series, you can use the Spotify app to control the music playing in the Spotify app on your phone, computer, or other Spotify connect device. Navigate between playlists, like songs, and switch between devices from your Fitbit device. To get more detailed information, see: How do I control music playing on Spotify?
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions present.

I assume this means you can use the watch to control what's playing on your phone, but then must connect earphones to your phone?
I'm struggling to see the point of being able to connect earphones directly to the Versa 2. I can't work out how to load songs directly on the watch at all

Hi there @toebarrett, welcome here. I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulties to download and listen to your music. I'm here to help you.
To add music to your watch using the Music app, follow the steps in How do I listen to music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch? If you're unable to download playlists to your watch, try the troubleshooting steps from here: Why can't I download music and podcasts to my Fitbit watch?
To listen to music and podcasts:
Open the music controls to change tracks or control volume. From any screen, press and hold the back button on your watch and swipe to the Music Controls screen instead of opening the Music app.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks for that. I think one of the main issues is that you need to download the Fitbit app to a desktop computer to transfer files, it can't be done from a phone app, or online. I did get it to work eventually but it took me most of the day to do it because of the need to get MP3s onto my Windows computer.
