How easy is it to change bands?

How easy/robust is the band change mechanism? Could one reasonably do it twice a day: sport band during the day and dress band during the evening? Or is the feature designed for occasional long-term replacement?

Changing my Fitbit band is almost impossible on ther versa

I did buy a third band, changed it in under 20 seconds. If your band isn’t fitting your Versa, I’d say exchange the band.

We've already returned it for money back. Ridiculous for a $200 investment.

If you want the video before trying to change the band and pay attention to the angle of the band, changing them is a breeze. I got my Versa a few days ago and was really worried about attempting to change the band, but not issue at all.

I returned my bands and got a different band. Changed them with no problem. I truly think my problem was a defect in the bands themselves and not my Versa. I’m glad I opted for a different band before returning it. I love my Versa more than my Apple Watch.

It may not be the easiest of things to do at first. The problem isn't getting the bands off as much as it is getting one back on. But after a few times the process becomes easier and faster .

Hi all -

I just changed my versa from the peach band to the black one and it was super easy. I was a little concerned because of some of the negative comments that I read, but actually there were no problems at all. I bet it took less than 10 min. and this was the first time. FYI - both of my bands are the fitbit brand and not the 3rd party bands although there are some really cute ones out there that I'd like to try.

I don't know why you would respond if you don't have the versa

It depends on the type of band you're switching to. I find the cloth band easier to switch to.

In any case, there's a pin on each end that needs to be pushed in to release it from the device. To insert the band it needs to be at an upward angle, then you push the pins in.

In my case it ended up being the watch.  I exchanged it. New one is so easy!

This mechanism of tabs to switch Fitbit Versa bands is the worst if we think in usability and practicality, the experience of hurt nails, hold the pebble pressing the buttons and touching de screen is not comfortable.

Nowadays we have a lot of better solutions to this and Versa doesn't have the best one so far.

Fitbit Blaze, for example, its very easy, you just need to change the hole frame+band to a new one, quickly!

Apple Watch also has an easy way to change bands, but this mechanism of Fitbit Versa is the oldest one, just watchmakers used to work with it.

Yeah I’ve looked at some videos with the new Fitbit.  I way! I have like five bands for my blaze and it literally takes 3 seconds to switch from band to band. I desperately hope the next model is as easy or I’ll be looking for something else when my blaze dies, or just keep buying the blaze lol.

Hey all! It seems this probably doesn't apply to most of you, but some, if not most, of the replacement Versa "pebbles" are defective and it's difficult to extremely difficult to attach Fitbit bands and impossible to attach 3rd party bands to them.

Long story, I've had 3 new in box Versas and 3 replacement pebbles. It's really easy to attach the bands to the ones that came in the box with a band attached and hard to impossible to attach bands to the replacements.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the new in box trackers have the same defect.

It’s not if you’ve got large hands. Just got mine and have been struggling for 30 minutes. Very annoying. But it looks like it’s study once you get it done. Which I won’t. Guess I’ll have to wait on the wife. Huge Sigh

Worst experience ever, and I have pretty small hands. 1 hour in I'm giving up and coming back tomorrow. This is the third time I've tried to do it and every time it's taken at least an hour....

Maybe Fitbit Versa owners are screaming because we expect better from our Fitibits, which have become fashion statements along with being great trackers. I had a nice wardrobe of bands for my Charge 2 and loved to switch them out.  It took seconds.  I could grab a band and put it on while walking out the door without worrying about losing pins or needing a tool for when the tiny ball-stems break off, which they all do eventually.  I get lucky sometimes and get the band changed out in under 3 minutes, but it usually takes much longer, depending on the band. Sometimes I just have to give up because I run out of time. And oh, the damage it does to my nails! I finally bought a jeweler's tool today that I hope will help.  I am very disappointed that all the advantages of the Versa come with this one HUGE disappointment.

SOME 3rd party bands are easier.  Some are nearly impossible.  But I've decided it is not intended that the bands be switched out as a daily routine the way I could with my Charge 2. I find that disappointing, but most people, especially men, may just find a band they like and leave it.  So it won't matter to them.  I have wasted a lot of money and time learning which bands work well and which ones would drive Gandhi insane.

Exactly.  The former snap on systems raised expectations and allowed we women to have our fashionable bands to coordinate with our outfits.  I've been very disappointed that the time commitment to do this with my Versa is just too great.

My experience, also.  Some bands (Fitbit brand as well as 3rd party bands) snap in fairly easily and others are too bulky and make the job very frustrating.
