How tenacious is the Versa 2's smart alarm?

Am thinking of getting a Versa 2 for the smart alarm, as my current Withings Steel (which I also bought primarily for the smart alarm) isn't really strong enough and I've heard the FitBit models are stronger.

But if you don't wake up when it first goes off, does it let you just go back to sleep again (forever)?

I sleep badly (my shifts run late and are stressful, it's hard to unwind and sleep is often disrupted or shorter than it should be), and I need an alarm I can rely on - and would also really like to get my smartphone (which I currently use as a persistent smart alarm) out of my bed.

I'd also prefer not to buy another smartwatch and find again that this feature doesn't deliver the goods. When I first read about smart wearables that offer alarms and sleep tracking, it seemed obvious that they needed to combine these functions to offer the best alarm (i.e. alarm you until they detect that you are actually awake). But to date I haven't found any that do that.

Could the Versa 2 be "the one"?

let me help you with your alarm question. The alarm will go off at the set time, if you don't turn it off it will go off again after 9 minutes (your standard snooze time). Still you could try the Versa 2 and see if it fits you. Fitbit has a 45 days window to return purchases and it is extended on November and December to either January 31st or 45 days (whichever is longer). You can read more about this here.
