I did an 8.5 mile loop today... my Fit Bit Versa says I only did 3.3 miles... On Friday I did a 5 mile loop and it says I only did 1.5 miles. I have been suing other trackers like Charity Miles and Map my Ride as well and those match up. My settings are set to my height and weight... Is there anything I can do to gt a more accurate reading? I've only seen people with steps that are too high, I haven't seen any that are too low yet..

Hello @saburkhart41, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. ![]()
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Please note that Fitbit devices calculate distance by multiplying your walking steps by your walking stride length and multiplying your running steps by your running stride length. By default, the app calculate your stride length using your height and gender. If you use your Versa with connected GPS, the app evaluate that data to automatically update your running stride length. For best results, run at a comfortable pace for at least 10 minutes.
However, if your distance measurement seems inaccurate, follow the steps below to calculate your stride length and then add it to your Fitbit account.
To measure your walking stride length:
Your running stride can be calculated the same way if you run instead of walk.
Now, in order to register your manual stride length, please follow these steps:
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

And as for the GPS.
My wife and walk right next to each other.
I have 6 miles
She has 4 miles.
Once again
Lot of money for absolutely fabricated stats.
