How to enroll existing user account as developer.

Hi, I have had a Versa 2 for a while and wanted to try my hand at making my own clock faces or apps for it. I followed the getting started guide, and even figured out how to downgrade my SDK version, but I am unable to install the tutorial clock face, as my account is not enrolled as a developer.

I would like to avoid having to make a new Fitbit account; I just want my current account to be updated.

Is this possible to do?

Accepted Solutions

resolved with contacting Fitbit support;

applicable portion of response as follows:

"it will no longer be possible to create clock faces to add them as a third party app, in short, what happens is that it will no longer be possible to create developer accounts to create clock faces, this information has been handled since last month"

this reportedly applies to all clocks and apps and devices

@sqrt2 Hi. There is actually developer and SDK sections of the forum. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Community/ct-p/EN#support scroll down to the bottom. Or, maybe @Guy_ can help.

I'm not convinced that that answer applies to Versa 2. It's correct for Versa 4.

For Versa 2, try the advice in 'Using a Fitbit OS Device' here.

I apologize for the lack of background in the original post.

I was following that guide, but the SDK errors when I try the install, citing my account not being enrolled as a developer.

this is true for the most recent version, on a base versa 4 project and on SDK 4.2 on the same basic project, with the necessary alterations for the downgraded SDK, which would build for the versa 2.
