How to enter the length of the pool?

I am having a hard time figuring out how to count laps accurately. I've been able to change the yards to meters but I cant change the length of the pool to 50 so my lap count is generally accurate but the distance is totally off. Solution?

Hey guys! Welcome to the Community! Cat Happy

@BAcresRanch, what you can do on the Fitbit app is changing the units from meters to yards and also, on the swim settings, you can change that as well, along with the pool length. Just go to Account > Advanced settings > Units (to change just the measurement units) Or scroll down to swimming settings to enter the pool length. If your question is, if you can change the pool length of an already recorded swimming, then let me tell you that this isn't possible. If you can't find these options, post a screenshot so I can take a look add guide you through.

@mrsid, are you trying to change the settings on the app itself or on the watch? If you are also having issues with the Fitbit app to find this option, post a screenshot too, so I can help you out.

I'll be around guys!

1. I do not see a swimming tab under Advance Settings and can not change the pool length.

2. I have a Charge-3 and there is no option to change pool length on the device as far as I can tell.

3. A 1 hr swim resulted in a calorie count of 176. Way off...

Any advice to any of these will be appreciated.

thanks

Hi @Nadav, welcome to the Community! In order to set the pool length on your device, you have to do the following:

- On your device, open the Exercise app > Swim
- Swipe up from the exercise screen and tap Pool Length

Please send me a screenshot of your App where the Advance Settings are. Normally you should be able to find the swim settings at the bottom of the page.

You also mentioned that the calorie count was incorrect in your swim activity. Please note that this is due to a bug. Our engineers are aware of it and are working towards a solution. In the meantime you can manually logged your activity:  How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hello.
I'm also having a hard time with inputting pool lengths on the Versa. I want to put in 25m. I open the swim app, tap the gear icon, find 25m pool length, hit back button to start the exercise and it stays on 100m.
Have tried numerous times. After I enter the pool length, is there something I need to do/press to keep it at 25m?

There’s no swim under advanced setting.

What do I do after choosing pool length and yards - I have followed the steps but nothing happens - seems like a missing step?

Same issue here. Bought a Charge 3 specifically for the swimming tracking and very frustrating that it is not accurate. All the swim settings in advanced settings do not exist and swiping up when in the swim app on the device does nothing.

I had my lap length set at 10 yds based on my own pool, but I can't find that setting anymore and the app is not counting my laps correctly.

For the Charge 3, it is NOT in the app, but on the Charge 3 itself.  Be sure to have Swimming set up as an exercise.  Follow these steps:

  1) From the main screen, swipe left to see the Exercise Icon.  Tap it.

  2) Swipe right/left until you see the Swim icon.

  3) Swipe up.  There you will see Pool Length and Units.

  4) Tap Pool Length.  Swipe up or down to adjust the length of the pool.

  5) Press the button on the left side of the watch to save and exit.

That should have modified the settings for pool length.

Thank you.

But,... the only problem now is that my pool is only 8m long. Minimum in
Fitbit is 10 m🥺

I followed instructions to change to swimming pool length from 25 m to 15m. But everyday it goes back to 25m. Even worse it never register the 15m so all my swimming stats are wrong!

It is so annoying because I swim every day. How can I fix this?

Best Answer

I have not encountered this issue.  Once I got the the pool length setting, adjusted the length, AND pressed the button on the left side of the Charge3 a few times to get completely back to the main screen, I had no issues.  So, unfortunately, I have no recommendation on how to address 'losing' the changed pool length.  Maybe another member of the community has a solution?

Understood.  My instructions were for the Charge3 and worked for me.  I do not have the Inspire HR.  Maybe there is a different setup?  Good Luck.
