Hello,
I picked up a used Versa Special Edition from a yard sale. It loops through the logo "To start, download the Fitbit app" but also has an activation date. My fitbit app will not pair with it so I suspect this device is still connected to the original owner's account. Since I have no way of getting in touch with that person, how do I remove that device from that other user's account so that I can use it? I tried steps to factory reset from watch but it's still in the same state. Thanks.

@Joey_W7 If it's saying "To start, download the Fitbit app", it's already been factory reset. It wouldn't matter anyway. If you had someone elses Fitbit in your hand, you'd remove it from their account simply be adding it to yours. You are in the fitbit app trying to add a new Versa 1 and it's not connecting?

Thank you for that info. Yes, I'm in the fitbit app on my phone and it's not connecting. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app serveral times and turned off and on bluetooth on my phone and confirmed that all of the location permissions are set.

@Joey_W7 You're welcome, and sorry to read. Seems like you're doing everything right. I would try chat support. Can usually be connected live in about a minute. Get Support

Hi @Joey_W7 - best to avoid a factory reset if you can, it can kill the watch in some cases.
When it says download the app, it is actually asking you to login to your account in the Fitbit App and click on your profile photo, top left, and then click "+ Set up a Device" and follow the installation instructions.
