How to get Music on to my FitBit Versa - Desktop won't download the FitBit App.

Hi,

I am trying to decipher how to put music onto my Versa.

I have read the instruction & where it come apart is when the instructions tell me to download onto my desktop the FitBit App.

This is just not coming up in the App Store & when I click the App link in the Fitbit.com/setup link, there is no option to download to my laptop (for reference, my laptop is a 2 month old new MacBook Pro, so is all up to date... so not sure why I am unable to download the App).

Has any one had this issue before & know how to download the App?

Also to my understanding, I can not put music on my versa, through my iPhone?

Thanks in Advance for your help!

No you cant put music on from a phone. In your app store search for Fitbit Connect. That should be available. Let us know how you go

@TaraMayne  Not sure why you aren't finding this.  Perhaps this link will help.  Scroll all the way down to the bottom for the links for the Desktop applications.  I have a Mac so I see the Download for Mac in the pink.  Below that in small letters are other OS links.

@HappyNelson Follow the link I previously posted to download the necessary app to your computer following the instructions for whichever platform your computer is using. Follow the instructions in this Fitbit Help article for additional steps. If you get stuck, come back.

The confusing thing here is that there are two fitbit apps: one for the phone, one for your desktop computer.  It doesn't help that the graphic in the docs shows a phone, or that the docs always say "the app" without saying which one.

To install music, you use the app for the desktop computer, NOT the phone.

  1. Download the Fitbit for Windows from the Microsoft store (to your desktop) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/fitbit/9wzdncrfj1xx
  2. Install it, run it, connect to your Versa
  3. In the top ribbon of the Fitbit on your PC, click on the "music" icon
  4. If "Device Busy", you'll have to remove the Versa, add it, and supply the WIFI password in the setup.
  5. Now that Music is showing (it's all set up and on the WIFI network) you can click on Music Storage on the left side of the PC screen, and then Personal Music in the middle of the screen
  6. Follow the directions from there.  You'll go to the Music icon on the Fitbit, then down to "Transfer Music". Click that. It says "Connecting..." and then "Use your computer to start transferring music". If everything goes right.
  7. Back to the computer, it should now show a screen with "Create new playlist".  You can finally "Drag and drop music here" or "browse" and after you do that, it will copy the music to the Versa.

The problem with these instructions is this:  once you click on the link, it says to "download to devices." I am trying to put it on my computer. I already have the fitbit app on my devices. It also states that I already own this app.  Not sure if my computer will support this anyway as it is older. I don't see why that should be an issue though. This is frustrating. I am sure I'm not the only one.
