Go to the + sign at the top right tomadd food/scan barcodes etc. Or you can link it up with my fitness pal and it automatically transfers the info

Hi cazspence,
Would you recommend using Fitbit to record food intake or My Fitness Pal? Which is easiest to use? Any advice is appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

I use my fitness pal. Not sure if any differences, probably just personal preference. Mfp just transfers a summary of each meal to Fitbit with the calories etc. Not the exact items consumed. But you can see all the info on mfp anyway.

so you need to carefully log your caloric intake for each individual item. You enter the application, mouse over the food icon on your map and enter the see more option. from there you can type in the name of your meal, and even enter in nutrient info if the meal has not already been logged.
for salads or complected dishes which are not already saved into the database you will need to calorie count each ingredient as I've found. everything is done through the application and the website.
it will also give you indications based on the meals you have logged throughout the day so that you can tell how much you need to eat in order to meet your target caloric count.
things like eggs are 60 calories for a medium egg. also count any oils or butter you put in. if you are sharing a meal? divide by half. hope this helps! best of luck Andrea!
