How to prevent an app (Spotify HR) from quitting automatically?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I installed the Spotify HR app. So far it's working great. I can remote control Spotify plus there's the Heart Rate shuffle that also seems to work. The thing is if I don't look at the screen frequently, it seems like the app automatically quits and the next time I look at the screen, it's back to the clock face.

Is there anyway to prevent the app from quitting automatically? I would rather quit manually should I want to look at the clock face.

Is that specific to the app design? Or is it something the OS does automatically after I haven't looked at an app for a while?

Thanks!

Hi, it's not normal that the app quits by itself. Two suggestions:

1. Restart your Versa 4-6 times in a row by pressing and holding the left and right lower buttons together untill you see after each restart the Fitbit logo and release the buttons. If that does not solve the problem:

2. Deinstall the Spotify HR app, restart your phone and your Versa and reinstall the app again. Hope one of these two solve your problem.

Hey,

Thanks for replying.

I tried both suggestions and neither worked.

I followed the contact developer link in the "app store" and created an issue ticket. I'll let you know what happens next.

Hello,

the developer is missing in action.

At this point I’m looking for a workaround.

It seems like Spotify HR quits when the watch « enters sleep mode » or something like that.

Is there a way to prevent the watch from « going to sleep » other than looking at it every minute ?

I tried the « always ON » option of the Nothing Special clock face, but spotify hr still « quits » after a while.

Hello @MadBeet I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I appreciate you have come back and let us know more about this situation. Please note that at this moment it's not possible to keep the screen turned on all the time as this might drain the battery on the Versa faster than usual. The largest amount of time the screen can be kept on is 60 seconds. To change this, go to the Settings app in the Versa, tap on "Display Awake" until you reach 60 seconds.

Thanks again for your participation in the Forums, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.
