How to roll back to older version of Fitbit app?

Hi,

i loved my Fitbit and especially the sleep analysis feature. Every morning the 1st thing I do is to check my sleeping chart. However after I downloaded version 3.1 yesterday I was shocked to find the sleeping heart rate and toss and turn rate functions have been locked! Obviously now I have to pay $124 a year or almost $16 a month to upgrade to premium users to unlock these functions now!!!

i am very disappointed with the developer. So it is not enough that I paid for my Fitbit band, now I have to pay to use the band as well?! How greedy can the developer be to just lock the previously free features and fish for more money. if I had that money I would have got an Apple Watch in the 1st place. I chose Fitbit because it is good and also half the price of Apple Watch. It seems I made a mistake and did not realize something seems cheap but there will be surcharges to use the seemingly cheaper gadgets.

Now here is my question:

How can I roll back to the older version (2.95) of Fitbit app so I can still use sleep analysis for free? Anyone can help please?

Hi @SunsetRunner  You can still get all the sleep analysis you had previously. The additional features that are behind the pay wall are not features you have always had, which are still there. There is no need to buy the additional information if you dont wish to and you will still have the Sleep stages data you have always had.

The additional features you can choose to pay for include

Sleep Score

Sleep Insights

Scores for time asleep and awake,  deep sleep and REM, sleeping heart rate and restlessness.

Heart rate graph for just sleep times, and percentages above and below your resting heart rate

Percentage ofbthe night you were reatless

What you have always had, which is still there is

Percentage time awake, deep, light, REM

30 day average

Benchmarks for sleep for someone of your demographics.

Heart Rate graph for the whole day and night

Hi @NellyG

Thank you very much for your reply. However, what you said is not true.

Before the upgrade, I had FREE access  to

Sleep Heart Rate

Toss and Turn Percentage

After the upgrade, the above 2 features are locked up and require payment to access therefore is no longer free, but I appreciate your efforts to try to help me. If you could share some insights about how to reverse the app to the older version that’ll be much appreciated.

Hi @SunsetRunner You can get often older app versions on the internet - you would need to search. But I dont think that will bring you the two things you want as they are part of the paid subscription. You may have had access to them accidentally as there have been several app versions around lately, some prior to the roll out of the paid subscription, but Fitbits intention was always to have those two items behind the paywall and I think it is unlikely they will change that. If you did have access to things destined to be behind the pay wall I think you have been fortunate to see them and unlikey to see them again whatever your app version. Sorry and good luck in your search.

I just got a replacement for my versa since it was not working anymore after less than a year. On that watch, like you, I had the sleep stats. It is not on this one. Very dissappointed.
