How to see my different stats during a workout on my Versa 2?

My fitbit ionic got scratched enough to become annoying, so after much research, I "upgraded" to Versa 2.  It's designed to track a lot of exercises, and the clear display is great.  I don't want to replace my phone, so speaker and other high-tech additions are not important to me.  I was incredibly frustrated that while swimming, the only display on the Versa 2 is a stopwatch - no laps, distance achieved, lengths or anything.  On the treadmill, I get HR and time, no steps or distance, just calories and the same stopwatch.  Grrrr.

Well, while the lack of encouragement from seeing the stats in real time, I was helped by the Fitbit help line to find out that after the exercises, if I go to the Fitbit app on my phone (Samsung Note 8, Android), just below the "TODAY" banner is a stick figure in a circle of dashed lines and a notice of how many days of exercise this week.  When you click there, it opens your exercise report, and each of the exercises are included.  My walk into work and up the stairs - recorded.  My swim report includes time, yards, calories and time per 100yds.  Treadmill shows my miles, average heart rate and average speed.  If you click on any individual exercise, it has full details of the exercise session - for swimming, it includes energy, impact and lengths of the pool that I was able to swim.

So, it's there, just very frustrating that you can't get the info while you are exercising and can't get it on the watch itself.  I hope that helps others who have had trouble getting the exercise info, and I hope that Fitbit will change the watch software to display stats in real time.

Nice to see you around @DrDrew99, thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I'm sure other users will find this information very helpful too.

Sorry to hear that you've had issues checking your stats during and after performing your workouts. I really appreciate the time you took to confirm this information with our support team. I'd like to share with you this helpful article about this specific topic: How do I see different stats during a workout on my Fitbit device?

Your Versa 2 automatically track swims to capture pool lengths, duration, distance, and pace, or use the Exercise app. You can also review a post-workout summary on your wrist. Fitbit Today will show your latest swimming activities too. You can read more about it here: What are my options for swim tracking with my Fitbit device?

Once again thank you for your time, I'll be around in case that you have questions about this.

I'm not sure if this goes directly to the moderator (YojanaFitbit), or if the appropriate people at Fitbit will see this, but the response you have given me seems to suggest that you don't understand the problem. You've again told me how to obtain my swimming stats from the app AFTER the exercise is completed. What the increasing number of Fitbit Community members are begging for are the stats to be displayed on the watch DURING the exercise. If you were walking on a trail where the end was 2 miles away, would you want a sign on that trail to tell you that you have walked for 7 minutes? Or would it be more informative to have a sign that says you have gone 1.5 miles and only have 0.5 miles to go? There are options for running, treadmill, golf, etc. to customize the stats that display on the watch. The original Versa and the Ionic display swimming stats during the exercise. Thus, it seems like a miniscule step to put the live stats for swimming on the watch display DURING the swim! What are we missing???

They don’t understand the issue.   There are no swim stats summary at the end of a swim session it just says your done!   That’s it.
