How to set Versa 2 exercise mileage cue permanently

Is there a way to permanently set the exercise mileage cue on a versa 2?  The default seems to be at 1/2 mile but I personally prefer 1 mile.  I've changed it before an exercise on my watch but thought changing it on the dashboard would be the solution but it doesn't appear to be, as it resets to 1/2 mile randomly.

You can permanently set the exercise mileage cue by going to the online Dashboard at fitbit.com > click the gear icon in the upper right corner > Settings > Devices > Versa 2 > Exercise Cues. Please make sure to sync your Fitbit Versa 2 after making any change to your Fitbit account.

That hasn’t been a permanent solution for me.  I’ll do those steps but the mileage will randomly switch back to 0.5 miles.

In this case, I would recommend restarting your Fitbit Versa 2 by following these instructions.

Whether this doesn't help, please set up your watch as a replacement device:

1. Tap the Today tab, and tap your profile picture.
2. Tap Set Up a Device.
3. Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

I regularly have to do this process - which may be every time there is an update in Fitbit. Even though it says you can set it permanently rather than using it for ad hoc exercises (manually) it is NOT permanent. Fitbit updates reset to OFF so I have to log in via a browser and reset again. Would be slightly less annoying if I could reset this from my watch rather than having to go online. Permanent means permanent and you should not be required to have to reset this every time therer is an update. Please can you fix this or comment on why this doesn't work as expected. Maybe the Versa 4 might have this option. Thank you.

@AGoodall   I wear a Versa 3.  Fitbit made a radical change with the Exercise app on the Versa 3 and Sense.  These settings are on the device.  I expect it to continue with the Versa 4 and Sense 2.
