How to transfer Music to Versa using iTunes?

OK. I cannot download music, and I cannot register the versa on the app on a mac (it is not listed as a product).

I've looked at the forums. I made my itunes available for sharing on xml.  I plugged into the cradle plugged into my computer.  I did not turn off bluetooth on my computer as the 'help' indicated -- because without bluetooth I have no keyboard or touchpad (I'm using a desktop).

Please -- how do I put music from itunes on this thing. Please.

Hi, I just downloaded the app on my computer but in my dashboard I see nothing related to music, the computer has already synced with my Versa but there is nowhere I can see to start choosing music.

@hugaslug  The music part isn't on the dashboard. When you first open the app or if you go to the Fitbit icon in the toolbar on your computer and click on the icon, Manage My Music should be one of the options. That's where you want to go.

Hello @kcronin  I'm in a similar  situation. I use mac products and have an apple music subscription. I never buy the music outright. I stream music or download for offline use. Is this completely incompatible with putting music on my new fitbit versa? I don't really want to have buy 300 songs that i can already stream / listen to with apple music.

@SunsetRunner   So, this is a restriction from the Music Industry. It seems that if you move the music you have downloaded from a streaming service for offline listening, the streaming service loses control of the music and now the music files are as if you bought them (which you didn't). To control this, the streaming music has some sort of software tag attached called a Digital Rights Management tag or DRM tag. The presence of the tag prevents that music from being transferred.

The good news is that if you want, you can play the music on your phone but control the playback from your Versa. This is done by long pressing the left button and sliding sideways to the Music Control screen. Touch the three dots and choose the little icon that looks like a phone. Now your Versa will look to the phone for music instead of the watch. Start your music on your phone and you should see the song title and some controls like pause/play, forward and back and a +/- to control volume. If it doesn't want to work, go to the Settings on your Versa and scroll down to Bluetooth Connection Options and on the next screen, scroll down to Music via Bluetooth and toggle that to ON or PAIRING and try again with the control of music. Leave the music playing on your phone all this time. Long press left button again and slide sideways to see if control is working.

Playing music from your phone and controlling from your wrist means you still have to have your phone with you but, it can be in your pocket or handbag. Not quite as nice as having music directly on your wrist but close.

Good Luck.

Hi Kathy, thank you very much for your comprehensive response. I tried controlling the music from my phone and it works great. Not quite as sweet as running without my phone, but a decent compromise and lots cheaper than paying for music regularly. Many thanks

I could have written this exact post. This is so frustrating. The music was the point of upgrading from Charge 2. It's ridiculous and should not be this difficult. Mine keeps telling me there is no music, but there is.

I also have Apple products I find that the versa stated you can download music easily and listen to up to 300 songs but I can't get it to work from the Mac to the Versa

I have synced them and can't get the Mac to find the versa therefore can't transfer music

I am hating this now that I have just spent more money to buy wireless headphones I may not use!!

@turnherewalker   I don't know if this will help you but, I've read here that if you used Facebook to log into your Fitbit account, that seems to make it hard for the music transfer to work.

How did you set up your account?  Did you make a unique User name and password or did you use Facebook or Google?

I have a similar issue and I've already tried all of the suggestions in this thread. I just purchased a Versa, set it up on my iPhone, downloaded Connect to my Macbook and can't seem to get it to "find" my Versa even when its literally right beside the laptop. My Versa keeps saying "Use your computer to transfer music. End now."  Has anyone worked this out?

I know I can take my phone with me, but it sure would be nice to access all of the features I purchased this device for.

musconv.com is highly recommended. I tried this to transfer playlist from different platforms and it works for me.

A very fast and easy process of transferring.

1) Go to fitbit.com/setup, download and install the Fitbit Connect app on your computer

2) Connect your Fitbit Versa to your PC, launch the app and click Manage My Music tile

3) Open the Music app on your Versa and tap Transfer Music

4) Once your Versa connect to your PC, choose local files from the pop-up window and transfer music to Fitbit Versa

When all the songs are synced to the Versa, you can pair Bluetooth headphones to it and begin to enjoy the music.

1. Download and open the 'Fitbit Connect‘ on your computer

2. Log in and go to 'Account' > 'Ionic/Versa' > 'Media' > 'Personal Music'

3. Find 'Transfer Music' and transfer apple music to Fitbit Versa

I have tried this several times on my Versa 2 with my MacBook Pro but it's not working.  When I click on the drag & drop music it does not open up to iTunes.  How can it get it to do that?  This is very frustrating...

I’m using a Windows 8 computer and Versa is not listed as a device in the set up process either when using the configuration file from the website.

when using the Windows app, the dashboard is very limited and says it can’t connect to my FitBit.

i have ensured my laptop and Versa are on the same wifi network and that Bluetooth is off on my laptop. I have followed the FitBit.com steps and looking for my watch spins and spins.

I’m not sure what else to do. Any help is appreciated!

All I had to do was disable Bluetooth in Windows 10 and then my songs took off transferring to my Fitbit Versa finally!  Thank you!
