I was experiencing the same problem today and I held in all 3 buttons at the same on the Fitbit Versa while having the Fitbit app open, it then suddenly unlocked itself. I wasn’t expecting that, but hey it worked so I’m happy. That May work for you? ☺️

Hi Roberto
I've tried all (except changing platforms. I'm on Android and do not have an iPhone) the troubleshooting instructions listed on this thread and my Versa is still locked. Do you have any more ideas on how to unlock my Versa? I get a message 'Error connecting to Versa' when I enter a new PIN.
I inadvertently locked it the same way as others on this thread, while changing the strap.
Thanks in advance for you assistance

Try going onto the website on your laptop and remove the credit card. Restart your phone. The resync the app. Good luck!

Thanks for your tips, I’ve follow your instructions and yes it works!
I was freakin out as I’m on a trip and it’s been few days struggling with my blocked versa. Finally now, everything is back to normal.
what I did: login to Fitbit versa website, disable paynment. Then went back to Fitbit app and reset pin (finally allowed me to) and that’s it, then enter your credit card details again as you would do when you first setting up your device for payments and done.

Possibly go to the dashboard online and double check as it may be active but no card added

@RobertoME wrote:Hello there everyone, my apologies for the late response and I'm seeing some of you are still having troubles to unlock the Fitbit Versa due to the PIN failed to change in the Fitbit app.
The regular way to turn on device lock or reset your PIN code in the Fitbit app: Is From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon located in the right upper corner > Versa tile > Device Lock.
Now, I'm aware you have tried this already and you got an error. In this case a good workaround that I was able to test on my own, is like @razerf15 mentioned earlier here. Special shout out to you for these instructions.
However for those who are trying these indications, keep in mind this has to be done from the Fitbit.com Dashboard in the Fitbit Pay section. You can use this link for easy access and if you are not able to do this from a computer, you can always use the dedicated web browser of your mobile phones.
I'll will pass all your comments about this behavior to our teams in order to review further.
See you later and I will visiting this thread if you need more help.
I am trying all of these steps and still getting “device authentication failed” when I hit “Change” for changing the PIN. I also tried turning my phone off and on again. I have an iPhone. Any other advice? When I hit “deactivate Fitbit pay” it says it’s deactivated at the top but when I go back in, I still have the “deactivate” button. Maybe that’s the problem?

I finally got these steps to work. I had to activate my IPHONE passcode in order for these steps to work.
