How will we download mp3 play lists after Fitbit pulls the plug on the computer app in October 2022?

I just bought the Versa 2 as it was the only Fitbit watch that allows me to download MP3 music to the watch without paying a monthly fee to Pandora or Deezer Spotify etc.  this is so aggravating!!!   If anyone can find a way to do this from an iPhone instead of the Mac. Please help by posting here!!!!

I don't understand what difference you think iPhone vs. Mac will make.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

The article I read said Fitbit was stopping the computer app but not the syncing with mobile phone app. But currently the only way to download MP3 files with subscription to a 3rd party is through the computer app.

My mistake, I was confused about the Apple line.  No, there will be no way to download your mp3s from anywhere.  Decide what you want before then and load as many as you can.

Kind of sad. Just bought it 5 months ago. Guess I will find a low cost Amazfit from now on. very disappointed in FitBit.

Hello @matt1velo and welcome to the Community.  I'm sorry, but we never have been able to transfer music from our iPhones.  The Fitbit Connect software just isn't available for iOS, just Mac OS.  A few other users also recommended choosing the music you reaaaallly like and transfer it before Fitbit Connect gets disconnected.

I completely understand your disappointment since your Versa 2 is relatively new.

I’ve never understood why this isn’t done using a standalone local app. Sign in to transfer files? What kind of crap is that?!!!

How about this: You load up your nice new Versa 2 with music... as I'm doing right now.

Then you want to switch watch faces or load a new app and ... you're out of storage.

How is fitbit going to help us manage that?

I also bought a new Versa 2 to replace my aging Versa because it's the last to allow local mp3's... and now I wish I hadn't.

Totally regretting I spent $200 on junk. This is the ONE feature I got it for. There's no way I'm paying another $150 a year to access a service that doesn't have my audio files.

100% Agree with you.  I really like my versa 2 - and generally like the FItBit technology - Except for the new MP3 problem.   I like to run and listen to music without having to carry my iPhone or having to pay a monthly fee - I just want to listen to my own music.  Seems kind of a basic requirement to be a modern smart watch for fitness.   I am sick of these tech companies always changing the rules after you put down your hard earned money.   Ihope some 3rd party can sell an app to work around this - so maybe we can all keep our watches.

I'm really disappointed about this too. I use my Versa to listen to audiobooks and podcasts while out exercising without my phone. After October I'll be stuck with the same audiobooks and podcasts, so it's not just a case of choosing some favourite music.

If you recently purchased your Fitbit you may be entitled to a refund. Some countries have laws to protect consumers against manufacturers who remove functionality before a reasonable period of time.
