This may work for you:
I inadvertedly locked my versa while changing the strap, finally found the ‘change PIN’ option and no joy. I then tried the various shutdown methods to reset again no dice. Finally I deleted my device, still no good. I started a chat with Fitbit who helped me get my versa added again however it was still locked ‘unlock with your phone’ they even did the Last Resort shutdown, no good! More PIN changes - hmm. Then he got me to remove Fitbit pay and then the pin was able to be changed and I could access my versa again, what’s more all my settings stats and data remained on the watch. I just need to set up my wallet again. So it looks as though the pin can not be changed as a security measure for Fitbit pay. I hope this helps you out in the same situation

Hey @damosbear, welcome to the Community! Thanks for sharing this tip here in the Community my friend. It is a pretty useful workaround to try removing the credit cards from the Wallet section of the app, since this allowed the PIN reset feature to work correctly. The you just have to reset the FitBit Pay setup process again to add the cards back into the wallet.
I'm pretty sure that this tip will help other users here in the Community with the same issue, to solve it.

Hi, I cannot find a way to change my fitbit pin. I tried this method, but it still asks for my current pin, which i can't remember. It won't allow me to change my pin without first entering the current pin. Even fitbit support gave me the wrong information. Do i need to factory reset my fitbit? I'd prefer not to.
