I can't set it up my Versa

I purchased the Fitbit Versa last night... however, I can't set it up.  Here's what I've done (several times):

 

1.  Downloaded the app (per the instructions on the watch)

2.  Followed the instructions in the app (logged in, entered 4 digit code on Versa, setup wifi, etc...)

3.  Waited patiently for the download/update... line creeps from left to right on the Versa indicating that something is happening... app reads Step 1, Step 2, Step 3 --- "x% Complete"

4.  The app then recognizes my device and even claims to sync successfully... but the watch itself still says "To start, download the Fitbit app"

 

So, I started over... I deleted the Versa device from the app... deleted the Fitbit app from my phone... and started at step 1 all over.  I tried to reset the Versa but I've seen two different "how-to" instructions and neither seem to work.

 

After repeating these steps again... same issue... watch still reads, "To start, download the Fitbit app"

 

Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you connect it to you wifi before you did the set-up

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this issue and would like to know if you keep having this pairing problem with your watch? If you do, I recommend taking a look at the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and follow the instructions provide there.
