I can’t unlock my Fitbit Versa with my phone

I accidentally entered wrong password few times but the Fitbit was locked.

now I am trying to unlock the Fitbit. It just won’t happen. It’s asking for the first password I put when I connected/ started the Fitbit which I don’t remember. I put the PIN number I put but it’s still not happening.

your help is highly appreciated.

@Sazan Thank you. I can confirm Versa is not linked to your account. At this point there is no way of unlocking it. You can attempt button factory reset. If this does not work, you will need to ship your Versa to Fitbit. Here's the link to Customer Support page.

 

Factory reset using buttons:

 

For Versa 1:

 

  1. Press and hold all 3 buttons until Fitbit logo appears (this may take up to 3 minutes)
  2. Release the bottom right button
  3. Wait until you feel strong vibration and release the other buttons.

You may need to attempt the reset a few times to find the optimal times. Trying holding the buttons longer, as long as it's needed for the vibration to appear.

 

For Versa Lite and 2:

 

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds. 
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds). 
    2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset. 

You can set up the watch back to the Fitbit account by following the instructions on this link: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

@Sazan welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it asks you to unlock it with your phone even though after trying the steps you mentioned above.

 

I'd just like to know if the issue persists or if it got resolved after trying the steps listed in the article that shared my friend @Marrrmaduke.

I am aware of this but the problem is that there’s no connection between the Fitbit and the phone not with Bluetooth, it’s asking to put the password I first used to download it which I don’t remember.

any help is highly appreciated

@Sazan 

 

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Reboot your phone. Do not pair in your phone's bluetooth settings
  3. Reboot your Versa
  4. Open Fitbit mobile app
  5. Sync
  6. Unlock with the phone.

The trick here is to not pair in phone Bluetooth settings but rather let the Fitbit mobile app do that.

I have done this 

its not working. So annoying. I wish I have never wasted my money on Fitbit 😔

@Sazan Just to make sure, is your fitbit still linked with your account (can you see it in the fitbit mobile app)? When was the last sync?

@Sazan open your Fitbit mobile app and tap on your profile picture. Scroll down to Versa. It should say there when there was the last sync.
