I can't update my Fitbit Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So, I've had my share of problems with my 3 Versas ( I've had to get 2 replacements, because of a slew of issues ) and my 3rd replacement came with FitbitOS 32.32.12.19, which I was happy about because it isn't laggy at all like newer versions of FitbitOS, but I've found that because it's such an old version, a lot of the features I like to use, like checking my sleep, the quick settings menu, apps, etc aren't available because I need to update. So I tried to update from my phone, but couldn't find a way, since I clicked the little X on the pink banner much to many times, and now it won't even show up to bug me again. Is there a way I can get my Versa updated to the latest version of FitbitOS?

@EFras, I'm sorry for the late response. However, it's great to see you in our Fitbit forums.

I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa's firmware since it can't be updated. By the way, thank you for trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

Please try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. After this, run the firmware update again and see if the issue gets fixed. This article may contain steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Sorry for the late answer, but I've already looked at that Help Page, but to no avail. When I open the Fitbit app on my Android phone ( Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 ) there would usually be a pink banner telling me to update since I'm on 32.32.12.19, but there's no pink banner showing up any more.

Hi Juan! So I got an e-Mail 2 days ago, and it told me to just basically set up my Versa again. So I tried that, and it still isn't showing up with any pink update banner. Also, You didn't have to apologize for being late! It took me quite a while to reply to you message.

Best Wishes,

Ethan.

I am having this exact same issue and am stuck on the exact same version (32.32.12.19) as you. Did you ever resolve the issue?? I have tried the same troubleshooting steps as has been suggested in this thread, but have had no luck.

Hi @randculture, thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa doesn't finish the firmware update even though you have tried the steps shared above.

I'd like you to try one more workaround which has been helpful for this type of issues. Please try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. Finally, run the update again and see if it gets completed.

Let me know how it goes.
