I didn't change the length of my swim

I used my Versa for a swim for the first time today.

I didn't realise there were already settings saying a length is 25m and I understand I can change that to 50 now. However, I went ahead with my swim and burnt a very disappointing amount of calories for a 2km swim.
Seeing as my Versa calculated it as a 1km swim with a very slow pace per 100m, would I have actually burned more calories than what my watch says? Or is it calculated from heart rate only?

Although swimming feels great, if I burn that little calories then it seems almost pointless for the time it takes! 😞

Lol no, the calories burnt will not be accurate. Calories for swimming do not used you Heart Rate data as the Heart Rate will not be accurate. Light technology HR monitors do not work underwater as light travels differently through water. So dont be disheartened! Now you have the pool length correct see what it tells you next time.
