I don't want my Versa's display to turn on when tapped

So I'd actually like for my Versa's display to stay off unless I press a button, in other words, I don't want its display to turn on if tapped. (Odd and possibly impossible request, I know.) I wanted tp start wearing my Versa again now that my little one is older and I'm running around more, but whenever I hold him, he taps on the screen and turns it on, then starts swiping around. I know I'm going to sound nuts here, but I don't want him getting screen time from my wrist. I'd much prefer he be examining the world around him.

Is there a way to turn this wakeup feature off? If not, do y'all happen to know of a Fitbit that has a screen that doesn't wake up when tapped, or has the option to turn that off? (I imagine the Fitbit Flex would be a fit, given that it doesn't have a screen at all, but does the Fitbit Flex even exist anymore? I don't see it listed in the product section of the website.)

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @gtladd. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern about the option for your Versa's screen staying off unless you press a button. At this time we don't have this option for this or other Fitbit devices, and even if you turn off the quick view feature, the screen will turn on when being tapped. You can turn off your watch when you're not using it. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?

Regarding your concern about the Fitbit Flex, as we introduce new products, we occasionally make changes to our product line to keep you on track with the most up-to-date health and fitness tracking tools. As a result, we no longer sell Fitbit Flex, but you can check with our authorized retailers for availability.
