I have no music controls on my Versa 2

I just got my Versa 2 about 24 hours ago. I have spent 8 of those hours on forums trying to get it to pair and connect with my phone. Maybe I am misunderstanding something about how it functions.

 

My Versa 2 will sync with my phone, no real problem there, but it will not consider my phone paired and connected. So I have no music controls, I cant open Spotify on it, it only sometimes gives me notifications from my phone, and it seems some of the overall functionality of it is hindered by this. If i go to music controls it tells me "Pair your phone in your settings app, under Bluetooth". So I go to my Bluetooth settings on my phone and the Versa is under the "Paired" category, but unlike headphones when I click it, it doesn't say "connecting". It doesn't say anything, nothing at all happens. So it seems to me the two devices aren't actually connected. Anyone understand whats going on?

 

Quick Notes: I have tried; Resetting both my phone and watch, factory resetting the watch, uninstalling and reinstalling the fitbit app, deleting all paired devices and re-pairing, unsyncing the Versa and re-syncing it, doing all of the previous steps away from other bluetooth devices, all of these steps in multiple orders and multiple times, and probably a few other things I forgot about.

 

Devices: Samsung S8; Android 9.0, Versa 2; Not sure its software edition.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Versa 2. Thank you for trying to get them resolved before contacting us.

 

For Android devices it is required turning on "Bluetooth Classic" to control music on your phone, this feature is different than the regular Bluetooth. Please visit this article and open the menu "How do I control music playing on my phone with my Fitbit device?" and follow the instructions.

That could be slightly more defined in the set up but thank you! That did work to get my music controls back. But I'm still not getting notifications.

Nevermind my above question. I figured it out. I'm just dumb. Also I accidentally made that best answer lol. If you can make yours the best answer EdsonFitbit. Sorry for screwing it up lol. Thanks again.
