The Fitbit went dead but I had noticed I had it upside down on the charger. The aluminum frame of the charger was getting hot. This is easy to do since it does not make you install it correctly. Is this way my fit bit failed? Has anyone else plugged it in upside down?

Hi @GMAYF - if you put the watch in the charger upside down it won't charge at all, so that is not the issue.
If you plug it in the right way round and it gets hot stop immediately, as it is dangerous. It also means the watch is faulty, probably from water getting in, although it is supposed to be waterproof some seals are poor and others may fail over time.

The charging pins are on the bottom, not center. So putting it in the charger the wrong way wouldn't even be making contact with the pins, and would do absolutely nothing but not charge the device.
