I upgraded to a Versa 3, and my active minutes are practially double what there were on my Charge.

I averaged about 125-250 active mins/week on my previous Charge.  At Christmas I upgraded to a Versa3.  No significant change in activity (maybe 10% more?), yet now I'm averaging over 400 active mins for the past 2 weeks.  Any ideas why?

The way active minutes worked changed a while back. For the earlier Charge models (up to the Charge 3) active minutes work as they used to but the Charge 4 onwards and the Versa 3 replaced Active Minutes with Active Zone Minutes and the way minutes are calculated work differently and could explain the changes you are seeing. Fitbit have a good help file that explains the changes at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1379.htm
