This seems a strange place to make a complaint, but Fitbit doesn't seem to have a complaints procedure and so customer services told me to post it here!
I've now had 3 Fitbits fail. The first was an Ionic. It failed and was replaced under warranty. Then the replacement was recalled. I was offered a discount on a new Fitbit. I chose the Versa 3. After 2 years and 4 months the heart rate monitor has stopped working. I tried all of the trouble shooting options (including multiple factory resets). It still doesn't work. The support agent told me that as it is out of warranty (by 4 months), the only option was to offer a 35% discount on a new watch.
These are not cheap watches (there are plenty of those around). I would not expect them to be so unreliable. I'm certainly very unhappy that after just over 2 years, I am unable to use the watch as a sports watch. Even with a discount, why would I spend more money on another unreliable watch?
Is this really how Fitbit want to be seen? Expensive, unreliable and poor after sales support. Not a good recipe for long-term success. I would certainly not recommend Fitbit.
I also have a Garmin smartwatch. It isn't as stylish as the Fitbits and I only wear it for sport, but it has worked faultlessly for more than 4 years (so far).
