I woke up and my Versa 2 had recorded 48000 steps

I woke up this morning and my Versa 2 had recorded 48000 steps but my miles only recorded. 24 miles. I don't why it would do this. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks in advance for any help.

I had that happen a week or so ago and then last week two days in a row it did the same thing.  The yesterday and today it was fine.
