Improve the battery indicator on Versa 3

Dear Fitbit:   Please do not change the battery charge indicator to Yellow when it is only 75% depleted.   For one thing, customers think your watches have a short battery life because the indicator light changes to yellow after just 1 day.    Can you please change the light to yellow after 50% battery life is left?

I ruined the back of my Versa 3 by putting it on the charger too often.   As soon as I saw Yellow, I connected it to the charger and the pins on the charger dug holes in the back of my watch.    After awhile, the holes got so deep that it didn't make a connection to my watch and I couldn't get my Versa 3 to charge.

Hi there, @marstar. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products into consideration.

Please note your Versa 3 does reflect the battery %. To do so, from the clock face, swipe right. The battery level icon is at the top of the screen. When your device's battery is critically low, a low battery icon appears for 3 seconds at the top of the clock face when you turn on the screen. Have you tried using a different clock face? Maybe the clock face you're using does not provide the %.

Please find below some tips for charging your Fitbit device:

  • Make sure there are no metal objects, such as jewelry, nearby as your device charges. After your device is charged, unplug the charging cable.
  • Get a notification or email when your device’s battery is low. For more information, see How do I choose which alerts Fitbit sends me?
  • Extend your device’s battery life by reducing your use of certain features. For more information, see Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
  • Keep the charging contacts on the back your device and the pins on the charging cable clean and free of debris. For more information, see How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • For best results, don’t leave your device plugged in on the charger longer than overnight.

Hi Fitbit,

The issue is on the cell phone app. It will change the battery icon from
green to yellow too soon, like at 75%. So then when I see Yellow, I think
I need to charge my watch. I look at the color of the icon, not the
percentage number. I destroyed the back of my Versa 3 watch by charging it
too often.

So I'm suggesting that Fitbit changes the battery icon on the app to stay
Green until the charge is less than 50% left. And I'm also telling users
not to charge the watch until they have to.

I now know to look at the percentage and ignore the color. But the color
is easier to see and interpret.

Thanks,
marstar
