Inaccurate heart rate reading since latest update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Ever since I installed the latest update on August 15th my heart rate readings have increased. I have had the Versa since January 2019 and my resting heart rate had always been steady between 62 - 67. Now it is consistently reading 76 - 78. Obviously this is throwing off all my other stats as well. Now I am starting to obsess over this which is probably making matters worse! I have tried all of the reset tips but to no avail. My Fitbit is now nothing more to me than a glorified watch!

@StacySnow welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Versa since it's not tracking your heart rate accurately. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

In order to avoid providing the same information, please let me know what troubleshooting steps you tried.

In the meantime, make sure of the following details:

  1. Your device is positioned correctly on your wrist:
    • Tighten the band so that it doesn’t slip on your wrist. For more information, see How do I track my heart rate with my Fitbit device?
    • Heart-rate tracking may not work with certain accessory bands, especially if they’re loose fitting. For best results, use the wristband that came with your device.
  2. If you’re doing an exercise such as high-intensity interval training, boxing, or other activities that cause your arm to move vigorously, try to relax your wrist and stay still for up to 10 seconds until your heart rate appears.

Note that heart-rate tracking is disabled during swimming.

After this, monitor your watch and see if the issue gets fixed! 😀
