Inquiry about my Versa 3

I have two questions. I just got a Versa 3.

I do like my Versa 2

1.) Can all my apps and settings be transferred to the new watch?

2.) Is there anyway that I can backup my old settings so that I can reconnect the 2 if I wish? I know that Fitbit cannnot share two currently connected watches of the same model and know it would be disconnecting o e to connect the other.

Hi there, @deandsmith. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums.

For more detailed information, please see Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?

Note: Please note that all your previous data will remain in your Fitbit app once you set up your Versa 3. As for the apps and settings, not all apps you had on your Versa 2 will be on your Versa 3 and vice versa, this depends on each Fitbit model. For more information, see How do I install and manage apps on my Fitbit device?

I've moved your post to the Versa 3 board for organization purposes.

Hi @deandsmith  - in addition to what @MarreFitbit has provided, the two watches have different features and functionalities.

For instance:

  • you can load your own music to a Versa 2 but not to a Versa 3, the vibration is fine on a Versa 2 but feeble on a Versa 3.
  • You will also notice very different heart rate readings.
  • Due to the form factor and different OS the Apps with the same name may display differently and work differently, An example of that is the Timer.
  • the Versa 3 has Google Assistant and can answer and do voice calls

To best get to know things about the Versa 3 have a look in the forums.

Thank you. i am still a bit confused. After upgrading to my fitbit 3, if I want to go back to my fitbit 2; will it have kept information or will I have to reinstall everything on it too. I want to keep both.

@deandsmith  -  You can use both, but not at the same time on the same account.

If both watches are still setup there will be nothing to install.

One way to switch is to remove the Versa 3 and then add the Versa 2 to your account which can be tedious. And then repeat the process to go back again.

What may be easier is to one time simply set up another Fitbit account and then have one watch on each account, then you only need logout of one account and login to the other to switch which watch is the active one, of course steps will be counted independently on each account.

Also it would be useful to load the SimpleCheckUp app. This will tell you when you last synced and if its connecting to the Fitbit App, directly on the watch, so you don't need to get your phone out, or do the logout/login to check.

If you do the two account approach, once logged in, go to the home screen without closing the App, a sync popup will appear, click on it and the Fitbit App will take care of connecting the watch to your phone, for the account you are currently using. Easy peasy!

This sounds great. So to check here, I can run both watches from the same iphone just using two different fitbit accounts for the two watches?
Sorry to be slow.
