I have no confidence in Fitbit firmware updates. This is my 3rd Fitbit Versa (I had one standard Versa and one other Versa 2). Every time there is a firmware update, something doesn't work. It might be minor, but it is terribly annoying, and it reflects very poor testing and quality control procedures at the parent company. Since yesterday's install of the latest firmware, my Fitbit no longer allows me to control the screen brightness. I set it to Max, but it stays on Normal. The clock face also "shakes" at times, which is really odd. I've reset my Fitbit numerous times, always hoping this time the "bug" will be fixed. I should know better. I've given up on Fitbit, and will not recommend their products.

Hello @MrsVig
I see you have tried restarting your Fitbit Versa several times and that has failed to fix the issue. I’m sure it’s all been very frustrating. I’d be frustrated as well. Have you tried changing your clock face? I have seen this help others. Maybe it will help you as well. I’d change it back to the original clock face just to try it out.
😉 I hope it works for you. Please let me know how it goes

Hi @MrsVig - the version 35.70.8.0 is most likely the factory reset version. The current Version is 35.72.1.19. Best check which version you actually have in the watch Settings, About menu.
As regards the firmware updates you are correct there seem to be many issues posted afterwards.
As @SunsetRunner says, changing the clock face is a good place to start to clear the shakes.
For the brightness, if you have sleep enabled you can't set brightness to Max, therefore try a simple Shutdown from the watch Settings, About menu, Wait at least 10 seconds before placing on the charger to restart it and charge it. This may enable changing it.

Thank you (and Guy_) so much for your concern. I really appreciate it! I only saw your reply and 2 others a moment ago. My Versa 2 is at the latest firmware 35.72.1.19. I think I'm using the original clockface, but if not, yes I will change the clock face and see what happens. Today, outside in the bright sunlight I couldn't see any day/time display. Only inside, and then it's normal or dim. Ah well, I hope changing the clock face will make the difference. I'm not "sleep enabled" so the dim (or absent) clock display is puzzling. Thank you again for your advice. I will get back to you and Guy_ when I've completed your suggested fixes.

Thank you for your concern and advice. My fitbit was at 35.70.8.0 before I updated the firmware. Sorry for the confusing title I wrote. I'm going to try changing the clock face, and keeping my fingers crossed that will fix the bug. Sure wish I could undo the firmware update!

I'm sorry to report that changing the clockface, shutting down, and restarting in the charger didn't do anything to fix the problem. There is no change in brightness level regardless of the setting chosen, and outside, there's no display whatsoever. I'm really disappointed but thank you sincerely for trying to help. I can't imagine having to wear a standard watch again or pull my phone out to see what time it is when I'm outside. Sigh. I do hope Fitbit will put some effort into fully testing before launching a firmware update. I understand the difficulty when there are so many versions of Android and Apple mobile devices being used, and so many different Fitbits. But a good company ensures they have proper software testing procedures. I don't see that with Fitbit. I think my best bet at this point is to get a good plain jane step tracker/watch for daytime, and only wear my Fitbit to bed for sleep measurements. Thank you again for being so concerned.

Gosh @MrsVig I’m really sorry to hear that didn’t resolve the problem. 🥺 Hopefully it will still give you accurate sleeping details. But, if your still not satisfied (understandable) it wouldn’t hurt to reach out to Fitbit Customer Service: https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/support?language=en_US I can’t promise they can fix the brightness issue but maybe there’s a fix out there that I’m unaware of 🤷:female_sign: Ya never know
