Is Versa 3 screen highly visible in sunlight?

Now that I'm shifting to more outdoor activities I need a tracker/watch that I can read easily in the sunlight. I presently have a Charge 4 and can't see it at all. I love my Charge 4, but it's no longer acceptable for this reason. Is the Versa 3 easy to read in outdoor sunlight?

Hi @deeg50s - I can easily see the clockface on my Versa 3 in full sunlight. The Versa 3 allows you to adjust the brightness. I keep mine at max.

Edit: You could purchase the Versa from a local retailer that offers a good return policy. This way, if the Versa 3 does not meet your needs, you can easily return it. But I think you you will be happy with it.

Yes. The screen is quite readable even in the direct sunlight.

Hi, thank you for the answer and the purchase advice! I am going to be near a Best Buy this weekend so I will look for one there.😊

Hi, thank you for the answer! 😊

If the bright sun is shunning directly on the display, then like your phone, you probably will have issues.

Your tracker needs to be brighter then the light hitting it.

That said I usually don't have issues reading the display.

Hi.

Right now I can barely see the display on my Charge 4 when I step outdoors even on a cloudy day. It goes super dim and stays that way until I get back indoors. Thank you, this was helpful.

Did you buy the Versa 3 at Best Buy and can you read it in the sunlight? is it significantly better than the Charge 4 in that aspect?

Best Answer

Yes!

I did purchase the Versa 3 from Best Buy and it is ABSOLUTELY better as far as visibility in the sunlight. I am very pleased.

Thanks so much!  I'll buy one this evening or tomorrow. 🤞

It may be better, but like the Charge 4, I need to shield the sunlight with my other hand. And yes the brighter screen means more frequent charging. I'm fact when I turn all the options on, I barely get a day between charges.

hmmm, I haven't bought it yet...maybe I better compare it with an Apple Watch; however, I don't want to use it for a phone or pay any additional monthly fees!

That is one of the battery hogs @SunsetRunner I leave my phone in the corner of the house or work. All texts and phone calls are answered/responded to from the tracker.

Interesting!

I don't use all the options so I can usually go about 4 days between charges. I only use notifications and track my workouts and steps. I'm not ready to answer calls and respond to texts lol.

I know this is many months late but the Versa 3 sucks in sunlight!!! Had it 2 years, was a gift. Set it to MAX and tried over 10 different faces and no matter what it is not visible. In cloudy weather too. Horrible. And fitbit support stinks. No one can help it seems. Hope if you got one it is better. Direct sun is the worst, but anytime Im outside driving, biking, walking, working etc., it is so dark. And when covered to look at its not legible at all. In direct sun screen is black. All while set to max and always on. It is horrible. Not to mention it has the worst time syncing and when it does its inaccurate. So nothing about this thing is worth recommendinng. Again, if you bought one, good luck and hope its better.
